427.....

IF, one were to consider ordering a 427 crate motor to go in their 88 TC, from which builder would they trust?  I am really liking the edlebrock version, but there are several builders out there.  I mean 550-600hp is insane power fro not so bad money.  Also, got a built 2.3 with a holset that may be available soon.....lol

Are you talking about ford FE block.... I believe...its been done in a fox mustang.  I would Google that.
Probably nobody has done that here...could be a cool project.

Good luck,

Travis

I believe he's talking about a very long stroked 351. Chp sells a rotating assy for a 427 for the tune of $1800. I would check into the ford racing crate engines, but with everything I would double/triple check everything on which ever motor you choose, you never know if it went down the line and the guy torquing rod caps was having a bad day or just alltogether forgot his torque wrench that day or couldn't see the marks on the handle or some stuff. I'm quite leery of buying a crate motor due to that. Spend upwards of 7k on a motor and have it fly apart on start up

Id build it myself. If you havent rebuilt an engine before there is a lot of help on the internet and there is also build books that you can use. If you want somthing done right do it yourself or pay a lot of money for someone good to build one for you. I mean its a good fun experience to rebuild an engine. When you open up the hood and someone asks who built the engine you get to say that you built that beast lol.

thing is, I dont have a garage anymore.  Plus these things come with a 2 year warranty so the reliability issue isnt a problem.  The edelbrock motor comes with a fully programmable injection setup as well.  Just pop it in and BAM  500+ hp.  Wonder how those old galaxy 500 "427" emblems  would look on the fenders?
