Auto climate control Problems

I have looked, and if I missed it, I apologize ahead of time.  My auto climate control, although all buttons still work and the temp digits still work I am now having this problem where the Auto setting never seems to quit blowing air.  It won't auto reduce fan speed no matter what climate I set it at.    Is this an issue with the unit itself or is there a sensor somewhere in the car that detects the temp for it?

Thank you for the help.

Probably the blower speed controller is kaput, they short out leaving only high speed...

It's mounted somewhere on plenum, similar to the resistor on std system...

would it make a difference that I can still manually adjust the speed?

How do I post a thread, I removed my 302 to rebuild it and it's back in the Bird but I don't know where to hook up the metal tube that comes off of a rubber hose from the smog pump?

Ummmm, I dunno I'd suspect the controller I mentioned is OK if manual adj works...

May want to check EATC temp sensor mounted at heater core hose connector... It prevents blower from operating on automatic when engine is cold, then goes to full on once temp starts to rise... It's one of the things that pissed me off about the EATC system, as air was never warm enough when high speed activated(and part of reason why I specifically sought out my TC with a manual HVAC system)... Then you are talking about A/C, so again I dunno...

BTW there is also a cabin ambient temp sensor that plays a large roll in operation, it's mounted in dash above the Graphic EQ/storage well...

If you can manually lower the blower speed than it's more than likely an issue with the head unit or the temperature sensor. You can also check the system for codes. See here: http://www.coolcats.net/help/atc.html
