OK, here's the deal. I've been getting a bunch of inquiries about the shock brackets, so I'm going to build a batch.
For those that don't know. Fox TBird/Cougar rear shocks are about 3" longer than those found in the 79-04 Mustangs. This wouldn't be an issue, but seeing as you can't find any quality shocks for the TBirds/Cougars, fitting those for a Mustang seems like a logical solution. While you can get them to fit if you try hard enough, the situation isn't ideal, and could have consequences, based on your driving style.
Anyway, the ones I make look like this, but are powdercoated black.

Here's the situation. I'm going to build a batch, based on demand, but I'm not going to do more than 20 sets of them. They are tedious for me to build, thus why I don't like to hassle with them.
The cost on them will be $50/shipped in the US.
Here's the rules for getting in on this. First, no money from anyone right now.
If you want in, you need to either send me an email, which is preferred, to cwarren@indy.net and include your real name, or a PM. If you send a PM, you MUST include your email address and your real name. I won't consider you a legitimate customer if you don't include this info. I want to know who I'm dealing with. All the full details will be needed later when it's time to finalize orders, organize payment, etc.
If you're outside the US, please let me know, and we can figure out the additional shipping costs.
I'll order the laser parts when the commitments are all in, and I will order quantities based on that. If I only get 10 commitments, I'm only ordering parts for 10 sets.
So..here we go!
Thanks!
Chuck
I have a set on the Sport. You guys need to order a set.
I am...
Daniel
I think mine were silver? I think Chuck made to order back in that day. There nice pieces for those that may need them.
Here's a "attaboy" for Chuck, I had a set, powdercoated black. Good stuff. Very good stuff.
Thanks for doing this Chuck! Email sent!

E-mail sent
Emailed, thanks Chuck.
Chuck, have you been confirming receipt of emails? Just checking because I did send a message last night from my gmail account, and want to be sure that you do see it.
thanks!
Ed N.
I'm in. Thanks.
I sent a email. Thanks
You're in.
We're still under the 20 set limit.
Great, thanks Chuck. After I posted I realized that I may be coming across as a pushy newbie, certainly not my intention. I happen to have a pair of Fox Mustang rear Konis kicking around, so I didn't want to miss out on the opportunity.
thx,
Ed
We're at 14 sets right now. One more day and then I'll get parts ordered.
Thanks!
Chuck did you get a email from Tims66goat@aol.com? Just wanna make sure I did everything correct. Thanks again for making these.
Chuck, since there have been a few asking to make sure they were in on this, could you put up a list of who you have so far? I know my email made it to you and said it was read, but not sure that others have that function.
yes a list would be cool, I sent email also.
Only a list of real names. Not keeping track of forum names.
As of right now:
Lambert Fleck
Daniel Hayes
Justin Gehret
Lanny Jaeger
Andrew Vogt
Ray Cole
Jerry Jones

Ordering parts tomorrow.
If it's not too late, I will take a set shipped to 86329
Thanks
Ron
Ron-
Read the first post with the instructions, please.
Thanks
Hope I'm not too late. Didn't see this in time. I sent you an email Chuck.
it.... I needed a set.... Didn't seee this.....
I know I'm past the deadline but are these for only if you have the stock rear in the car or are these used when a Mustang 8.8 is swapped in as well?
I used them on a stock rear end but I believe the will also bolt up to mustang 8.8s no problem
These are only required when you use shorter than stock shocks
When I swapped the Mustang 8.8 rear into my Bird, it was a direct bolt up for the control arms and shocks. I hope this helps.
The rear housings are exactly the same for all fox 8.8s. I recently used a mark vii rear with SN95 axles and cobra brakes and brake lines. It's a very modular configuration that you can build to suit your needs.
Hope this helps -
Geoff
Yea I thought I remembered reading all the housings were the same but I didn't want to give false advice
My TC rear end also has sn95 axles with Mazda rotors and I've been thinking about going cobra rear brakes to match the front
The front rotors look pretty big compared to the rear rotors
I think saying that the housings are the same is misleading in some aspects. The 8.8 housings from the 86-93 Fox Mustangs and the 94-98 SN95 Mustangs are the same and this has been verified multiple times. The axle to axle is different between the 86-93 and 94-98 due to the Fox Mustangs coming with drum brakes and the 94-98 Mustangs coming with disc brakes and ABS which resulted in a need to move the axles out about 0.75" per side. The 99-04 8.8 housings are physically wider both in the housing and axle to accommodate for the wider body of the 99-04 cars. Here are some of the measurements:
Brake Mounting Surface to Brake Mounting Surface (pulled from Corner Carvers which was sourced from a Ford Engineer)
86-98 -- 54.10"
99-04 -- 55.51" (1.41" wider than the 86-98 housing)
Axle Lengths (pulled from a Moser catalog)
86-93 -- 29.188"
94-98 -- 29.969" (0.781" longer than the 86-93 axle)
99-04 -- 30.688" (0.719" longer than the 94-98 axle and 1.500" longer than the 86-93 axle)
So with this being said there are some differences between the different years of rear ends. Another minor difference but one that can be overcome is that the lower control arms on the 99-04 Mustang 8.8's used 14mm diameter bolts versus the 12mm used on the 86-98 Mustang 8.8's.
If the question is if any of these will physically bolt up into our cars then the answer is the 86-98 rear ends will definitely bolt up into the our cars as it has been done. I am not sure if anyone has tried a 99-04 rear end and whether or not the LCA and UCA mounting points are the same between the 86-98 and 99-04 rear ends. My guess is that the UCA's are but I am not sure about the LCA's due to the increased housing width. From what I have read guys with the 94-98 cars have installed the 99-04 rear end to get a wider rear to balance the wider front track width of those cars but this has all been in road racing applications. Hopefully someone can post up on whether or not a 99-04 rear has been tried in a Bird or Cougar.
Darren
I wasn't considering the 99-04 a fox body. i have no experience with that generation.
Haven't tried it in a Fox Birdcat, but from my Mustang forum and Ford parts experience I'm going to say that the control arm mounting points are the same for 79-04 Mustangs.
cheers
Ed
The kits from this order are all spoken for and out the door.
I do have parts for a couple more sets that I was going to weld up when I was putting some more motor mounts together.
OK, if you missed out on the initial bunch, I have 5 more sets that I'm welding up. After that, no idea when more might be made.
All the info in the first post is the same regarding pricing, ordering instructions, etc.
Getting ready to drop these last 5 sets off for powdercoat this week.
I have 1 set left that is unspoken for.
Chuck
That's it. Last set has been claimed.
Thanks for playing.
Looking forward to getting another set. Thanks for doing these.
See HERE (http://www.foxtbirdcougarforums.com/showthread.php?39961-CWE-Shock-Bracket-CAD-files)
I have a set on the Sport. Once I do the disc rear swap this Spring, they can go to a new home for the cost of shipping. Re-homing fee. LOL.
Are you going back to T-Bird length shocks?
I am. I'll post them up when I swap the rear.
I will gladly pay that and give them a good home
Just letting everyone know that I have a set new that's posted in the for sale section.
