Well guys after 3 years of the car sitting in my shop I went and threw in the towel. I went from seeing a finished product in my mind to loathing it. I didn't have the drive to want to finish it. I thought maybe I could hang in there but I finally decided it was time to move on to something else. I called a guy to come pick it up the other day, I stripped a few things out before sping it that I knew could help some people on here and junked the rest of the car. I know I haven't really been all that active on here or have really helped much of anyone but I thought I'd share...

It is a 1985 Cougar XR7, I had planned to swap a V8 in and didn't end up getting very far. The car has 86K on the body (as far as I know), I seem to have misplaced the title though:punchballs:. As far as the car goes it has a little surface rust and two rust holes I have somewhat cleaned up that need to be patched. The drivers front fender is a bit rotten and needs replacing. As far as what goes with the car here is a quick list. E6SE heads pushrods flexplate starter mostly complete gasket set exhaust manifolds 302 torn down to a bare block with the full assembly (Just needs honed and bearings) 2 sets of Head light buckets 1 Grille Extra header panel Cougar emblem Taillights and one extra lens Mustang 5.0 driveshaft 1 set of 8 hole Wheels (Thunderbird style) on the car and two extra that are separate V8 Radiator Full serpintine system (I think) Fan
I really don't want to get rid of it but I need to. I cannot afford to rebuild the car the way I wanted and really don't have enough time to even get it running. I want the car to go to someone who cares as much as I do.
The car is located in Tripoli, Iowa and I am really wanting to get $600 if at all possible but make a reasonable offer if you wish.
If it doesn't sell it will more than likely be parted out. Please, someone buy it though.
I have access to a full 87-93 Mustang 5.0 LX parts car and was wondering if I can use all the EFI wiring and such to set mine up to run EFI. Also what parts would be useful from this car for my car? I know the 8.8 would be useful but is there much more than that?
My wife gave me the okay to buy the engine I wanted for the cougar. A freshly rebuilt 351W with all the things it needs except a carb and trans but its loads ahead of where I was before! Hopefully the guy takes my lowball offer. Also, thanks go to Dan and Paula and their helping my wife! You are wonderful people!

So as some of you know I got my job a few months ago as a valet attendant. I enjoy working with cars and people so I do quite well with this job.
Over the time we have lost a guy on third shift requiring me to work swing shifts of 2nd and 3rd shifts each week, but I can handle that (Points with the new boss right?). Then this last week it was like a nightmare for me, I have about 20 people working under me and 1 walked off the job because he couldn't adjust the hours he worked the way he wanted (3 hours early so he could leave early on a Saturday doesn't work.) threw his ID into the security lead's face and cussed all the way through the casino, then we had hired a woman planning on going fulltime, she was on the schedual for a month schedualed at least 10 days she worked a total of 3 days and under 10 hours between her leaving early and calling in, we fired her. Then a few nights ago I had a younger guy who is a great employee get into a guest's car and take it to our lot went to park it and slid their 1999 Impala straight into another customer's 2010 Honda Pilot. I got out to him and assesed the damage which was a smashed headlight, pushed back fender, bumper, etc. I told him not to worry and that they would require him to take a drug test. He told me he'd fail I did NOT want to lose a good employee at this point but hoped for the best, he ended up pulling through though! Last night it got worse, our one remaining 3rd shift guy (Who was schedualed to work 6 hrs later) decided to bring a date to the Casino resturant and proceed to drink, not only that but tried to get alcohol for his underage date. He was suspended until further notice and he will be fired shortly (higher ups ).
So now we need two 3rd shift employees. Looks like more OT for me
Yeah, I'm thinking about selling the 85 Cougar XR7. I got it about 2-3 years ago and have been working on it off and on but don't have money to pour into something that doesn't run. I am thinking about getting into something that drives so I am thinking I should see if anyone is interested first.
As previously stated its a 1985 Cougar XR7, engine was pulled recently and sold transmission is still in the shop. I had planned to go V8 T-5 but it never happened. Its fairly solid other than the rear quarter panels behind the tires there is a hole on each side that needs patches welded in. Its a 86K mile car and before I had it it had sat in a guy's garage for about 5 years. I really don't want to sell it but I need to stop dreaming and let someone else have a chance at it. Its a good car but I just don't make enough to build my 302 up, buy a trans, do body work etc.

Well as some of you know I had my Catera which I hated. It leaked multiple fluids, was not a peppy car by any means, had a silly hydraulic (Or something of the like) suspension system and was an ABSOLUTE pain to work on.
So I decided it was time to get rid of it. :D Heres what I had...
A friend of mine is into MN12s and emailed these to me, and I thought they were pretty cool. I figured it would be a good idea to share them with my good friends on here.
The first ones are a few underside shots of the Cougar XR7 AWD mule that had been planned and ended up being sped.
Next is a test mule for the Supercoupe 3.8. Apparently the car was used by the Dearborn Police Dept. but this is pretty dang cool.
Not really sure that anyone really knows (Or cares for that matter...) about my job search, but I have been unemployed since the day after christmas last year (Who downsizes the day after Christmas and can sleep at night?). Well I had been working at a Ford/Volkswagen dealership as a salesman which I had always wanted to try, I had left a solid job as a production painter for this job and ended up on my butt out in the cold after 3 months . Well anyway, I applied pretty hard out here but my area was late to the job crunch and its been hard to find anyone hiring. Over the past few months I have even gotten interviews and they would go super and I'd never hear from them again! I was starting to think I was broken but a few days ago I got a job at the local Casino! God it feels so good to be back in the working world!
Its the 2.3 Turbo four out of my 85 XR7. It has around 86K miles on it and runs. May need a head gasket. Engine is located in Tripoli, Iowa and I am asking $150. Would prefer someone who could pick up out here as I don't have a truck to transport it at hand but could get one if needed.
I just started getting back into the gun world and wondered if there were others on the board who were into them as well. I have a small collection that I am starting to grow :)
blknredcougar has been nominated for the Four Eyed Pride feature car for August. He has a fair amout of votes but he needs more love from our side of the tracks!
I was sitting at home this morning when my wife calls me and asks me if I knew Ed Thomas, I said yes. As it turns out a man walked into the school and shot him several times in the head. This town really doesn't need this sort of thing especially a year after half of town was wiped out by a tornado. I spent my high school days at this school and even had talked to him on several occasions. I'm just astounded that this sort of this continues to happen in our schools.
