Fuel Filter Relocation for Dual Exhaust '86 Bird 5.0 AOD.

Does anyone have a pic of where you relocated the fuel filter for a single to dual exhaust mod? I had read at one time that someone moved the filter to the other side of the frame rail. It appears the only space on the other side is forward of where the filter currently resides and there doesn't appear to be much slack in the fuel lines to get there.

Hope this helps ...

Pics are from two different cars.

1st pic is where the fuel filter can be moved to (disregard the subframe connectors - car is a "stock" 86' Cougar vert)

2nd pic is a relocated fuel filter to this location.  The bracket is from a dual exhaust car (a Turbo Coupe if I remember correctly) and utilizes clips/bolts to install.

Where you able to move it without adding additional length to the fuel line?

It's been a long time, but I know I didn't lengthen or modify the fuel lines at all.  I'm pretty sure that they are the original lines from stock (car was originally a V6).  If not, then they are the stock lines off of a dual exhaust car (TC, Sport, '88 XR7).

Not sure what you're going with, but I have skinny lers on my car that didn't need any modification for the filter at all. I had a custom exhaust job done by a shop.

Rotorr22, what did you do to get your exhaust installed. Move the filter? I’m considering dual exhaust on my 85 CFI 5.0 . I’ve read it can be relocated or switch to a single stage pump?
