Electrical Tech / 86 MPH and faster?
Awhile back, there was thread on modding the speedo to read faster than 85, but now I can't find it through the search button, what gives?
I was wantin' to read up on it, as I may try it, seeing that I have an extra cluster now  :mad:

Suspension/Steering / lowering a 'Bird?
Been thinking about lowering my car a bit.
It needs new shocks and struts anyways, was wondering what all I'd need though. Would Mustang springs work, or do I need some special stuff?
Also, would I have to use shorter shocks/struts, or would stock length still work?
(forgive me, I'm a suspension newbie, and my car bounces like it's got a load of kids having coital exercises inside!)

Body/Appearance/Interior / body color grille
Began stripping the chrome-foil-stuff off an old 88 grille I had from when I hit  deer in the maroon 'Bird, the grille has a few tiny cracks in it, not very visible, let alone when they'll be under some paint...

Anyway, I'm gonna get it all down to bare plastic, sand it a little and paint it white, then put it on the white 'Bird, make it stand out a little...
Kinda been thinkin' about painting the insides of the holes on the wheels black, too.

The next step will be to get some of the rust off the doors, so far it's just surface rust, gonna stop it before it spreads

General Fox T-Bird/Cougar Discussion / Sport? wheels an option..?
On the new Bird, there are the wheels that I refer to as Sport wheels-the ones with the holes in 'em, eight holes.
Were these wheels an option, or did someone maybe put em on the car after they bought it?
They do have the locking lug nut on every wheel...so I'm assuming they're factory.

Audio & Other Aftermarket Electronics / where is the factory amp...
and can I remove it, or bypass it, and still use the factory speaker harness, or will I have to run new wires to all the speakers?
My speakers are popping and fading out, and I replaced a coupla, they still do it, have a new cd player, as well.

gotta question for some of ya...
Is my white 'Bird an LX, or what, it has no badge on the trunk lid, nor is there any marking where it may have been.
I'm the third owner of this car, which was adult driven.
I have the vin here, if that will help...?

Misc Tech / taking out windshield
anybody ever done this before?
mine was uhhhh, ummm broken (more like completley friggin shattered  :mad: !)
and Im trying to take it out myself to keep the installer from bitching too much...
I can seem to get the trim off of the top though, I've got all the rest of it, and most of the glass lifted up around the sides and bottom.
And what would be a decent price for a windshield, installed in an '88 LX 'Bird?

T-Bird/Cougar Parts & Cars WANTED / 88 Bird parts needed:
I'm finally getting around to putting my 88 LX back on the road, but need some parts that are hard to find here in the 'yards...

tail lights-the complete assemblies
header panel, and headlights
and if anybody has and dark grey interior parts, I need:
headliner, all the plastics pieces, and matching back seat (back and bottom)
 
My car is red, but some vandals got to it one night, and I've put in a dash and leather seats out of an 85 XR7 that got wrecked, so I need the rest of the same color interior to finish it...
