User Rides / Re: The Cougar Helps with The Chip shortage
Just got word today from the Ford dealer,

Good news,
My 2021 F150 order is now a 2022 order at the same price.

Bad news,
New deliver expected February 2022 for a truck I ordered February 23rd, 2021  :dunno:

Oh well, more room for the Kitties to play !
User Rides / The Cougar Helps with The Chip shortage
Sent my 2019 F-150 off to a better place last February.
Long story short, great deal and I was not working due to Covid and had no problem waiting for the "3 Month" back order.
Now we are into month 7 with not even a VIN yet.
I'm back working and the Cougar has to fill the void.
Just dug the head light/Marker box out of the rafters and installed the A-grade lights and markers.
(I don't have any for sale)
As fall approaches, I need to see better on my way to work in the morning.
About 3,500 miles on this car, this year.
By far, the most I have driven this car any year since 1999.
I put 185,000 miles the first 11 years and only 3,000 from 1999 to 2020.
Anyone else waiting for a 2021 F150 ?;sa=tmpattach;attach=post_tmp_6239_df3e8ac887678bbb9aa9a7bc1a3684df;topic=0X
Electrical Tech / Autolamp Relay
Does anyone have a diagram of the location of the Autolamp relay ?

Is it one of the four under the dash, near the console ?

Thanks in advance !
Suspension/Steering / Re: Daily drivers take warning. Inspect those struts for Rust !

"That think looks chintzy as all hell. Also, it says it's for lowering springs only."

I really appreciate the input. I have an offer for use of spring compressors and I will take him up on that offer.

I know forums are not as busy as they used to be but I have made a lot of good connections through forums and gained a lot of knowledge as well.

Suspension/Steering / Re: Daily drivers take warning. Inspect those struts for Rust !
Has anybody used a, "Spring Installation Tool, Front Control Arm" ?

What I decided was to replace these 2" lowering springs on the front while it's all apart.

I ordered Springs from Rock Auto.

Just a tip,

Anytime Cougar 5.0 guys go to order something and it shows "out of stock" Just switch to a 88 5.0 Thunderbird and lots in stock !

Not just Rock Auto, anywhere.

While this is not my daily driver, I do drive my 88 XR7 daily right now.
This is from my 88 Project.
I was backing it into the shop when the front wheel snapped.;sa=tmpattach;attach=post_tmp_6239_dbff5dc77caaa1c63b801eaf707d11c8;topic=0

Tore is apart and found this,;sa=tmpattach;attach=post_tmp_6239_bc3962b03fc7157f280b21e16679a376;topic=0

The rest of the suspension is in really good shape.
The car has sat outside the last 3 winters and All I can come up with is that water got in between the steel and the good ol' Canadian freeze/thaw cycle blew it apart.
My daily driver will be coming into the shop after supper and be inspected.
Lounge / Re: RIP Lou Ottens !
Headed out for a road trip today.
Daughter wanted to come so I went down to the basement and grabbed some tapes from my wife's old collection.
User Rides / Re: 88 XR-7 Project "Save this ol car"
So I left this morning with the rest of my Blue parts to see my new friend.
The A-pillar and Door panels went to members here.
Came home 5 hours later with a load of Red for the project ;sa=tmpattach;attach=post_tmp_6239_431c8eb60eacbded8858387bbbe1d76c;topic=40946

At this point, it looks like my blue seats are in the car he bought.
From the same area and the Car is a XR-7 with Blue LS seats

Small world.
