I like it but i believe that the color of the trim on the 86 older cars is gray. The trim paint code on mine says it is gray. I wish they were black though.
Here are some pics of the Fox cars i've got the Gray one is my daily driver 84 T/c it has new energey suspension bushing kit, ball joiunts, inner& outter tie rods end, new motor, new brown top injectors, 88 intake, intercooler, exhust, new accesories. Also has 2x 10" & 2x12" woofers. The white 85 cougar XR7 i picked up for $150 (lost title) in search of parts for my 84. put the wheels and brand new tires on the 84 T/C. The red 88 cougar is the one I drove of a 75 ft embankment while i was sleep driving with the cruse set on 65MPH. Luagh comment good or bad just remeber you chose to look. LOL
Thanks for the input guys that help a little. I got the Pillar pod. just wanted to maybe give the dash a face lift. Anyhow i guess i'll just stick with what i got.
How much would be involed in changing from the 84 style cluster to the 85-88 cluster? Change the whole dash and the cluster or would i also have to use the donor cars wire harness also. Mine has a mech speedo. Also if so any one know where is can get a over lay for the old square cluster?
on my 84 T/c i recently changed the wiper govenor. After I got done I noticed that my auto headlights quit working. Just wondering if they might be conected in some way. I haven't dug back into it just yet. Just gonna double check the make shure I didn't disconect a plug or break a wire just thought if anybody new for sure they were connected that would help make it easier.
The best bulbs i've found are the sylvainya Silverstar. They give you the look of HID but they go right into your stock bulb location. They are kinda pricy $20ea. I put some of the sealed beams in my 94 Chrokee and they were twice as birght. These are by far the best light bulbs i've used. I was so impressed with them i bought 2 of the lower beams for my 84 T/C. At night they give off this blue like tint but throw more light out and its more like daylight. They make the silverstar bulbs in just about every size and shape. I've only use the head light's seeing how they still want $20 for to tail light bulbs.
had the same problem in my 84 T/C and after 2 motors and 2 switches found that it was the wiper govenor. It is located directly above the fuse box. takes about 30 min to change. Just need to find one at the slavage becuse i think ford doesn't make then any more. couldn't find a replacement and i work at a parts store.

The best i've found is to use some duplicolor CHROME paint on the inside on the reflector and then use 0000 steel wool on the outside. Then i coat it with tire wet. Also use the tire wet on the black trim it also makes it look good black not fadded looking dull gray.
The first time i rode in one. That did it for me. A friend of mine dad had a brand new one in 85. He traded in his 84 supra for. The day he got it he took us for a ride. The thing nearly made me shiznit my pants. I was only 12 and was in the back seat sliding all over the place hangin on for dear life. It was way better than the supra he had before. after that i always wanted a bird or a cougar. I finally got my 84 T/c blue/gray on gray. Also 2 other cougars on i totaled when i fell asleep while dirveing with the cruse on. The other is a 85 couger XR7 2.3t. Any way always remeber thinking about how fast that car was when i was little made me want one. Now that i have one i can't get enough
Take off the Idle air control motor and cleanit out with carb cleaner or brakeparts cleaner, maybe even seafoam. Put it back on an see how see runs now.
