I can't speak for moonmount, but maybe I can help anyone else who sees this in the future. I had a very similar problem. Brakes felt like  after doing a TC rear swap (I already had 11" fronts for a while). I ended up trying 3 different master cylinders thinking I had the wrong size. I started with a 94 Mustang GT master, then a 93 cobra, and finally a 94 Mustang v6. Plus bleeding gallons of brake fluid in an attempt to get out any air. No matter what I did the pedal just felt "weird". Best I can explain was soft for the first inch of travel, but felt like it bottomed out early and just would not stop the car no matter how much force I applied.

I finally tried swapping boosters to a 93 Cobra, and that worked! I think the original booster may have got damaged during the initial master swap but I'm not sure, it worked fine with the drums. Either way, a new one, and a new cobra one at that fixed it the problem. Hope this helps!

That's a good idea but the tires are so bad that I'm really not comfortable racing with them. It has 3.55's in it now, so I think a wider tire in 28" would kill what little gearing I have. A wider 26" probably makes the most sense between making them fit, adding traction, and helping final drive ratio, but I really don't want to go down to a 26 for cosmetic reasons.

It's a shame because if someone made a 27" tall 275 width tire, I'd be all over it. As I said, I may got with M/T ET Street S/S radials to get the max traction out of a 255/60R15 size. I only put 200-300 miles a year on it, so I'm not really worried about tire life, but boy they are way more expensive than standard summer tires.

There's been word that the local dragstrip, 75&80, is reopening and it's lit a fire under me to get the bird working again. It's been sitting a close to 2 years, I had to drain the gas and fixed the brake issues which was the reason I parked it originally. Turns out the booster was bad, but I still had partial assist that kept me going in circles trying to figure out what was wrong..

Now I need tires, pretty badly. I got these used and that was 10 years. I was contemplating going with a wider 275 tire, but those only come in 26" and 28" tall sizes. I have 27" tall 255/60R15's on there now and after looking at it today, I got to say, I really like the stance with the 27's. I may go with drag radials for added traction instead of changing sizes.

Anyway, here are some pic's just after a quick wash.

Thanks guys. I am unsure of backspacing. I got the wheels used, so I would need to pull them and measure. I will say they appear pretty centered with about 3/4" between either the quads or the lip. Thanks for the pic Shawn. I think I may have enough clearance to pull it off.

Hey all, I thought this topic was beaten to death, but I can't seem to find the info any more since the site switch. Anyway, it's time for new tires on my bird and I think I may want to go wider. Have people ran 275/50r15s or 275/60r15s without rolling the fenders and retaining the quad shocks?

I can't decide between the 26" or the 28". I currently run 255/60r15s which are about 27. So if anyone has pics that would be very helpful.

NICE!

I really like the 04-08's. The 09-14's kinda turned me off. But the 15+ they really sharpened them up. And that's a great shade of blue.

Yeah, that was a big problem for Ford. If I remember right, back in the day they had a replacement connector that "fixed" the problem. You'd cut off the old one like 3 inches back, and solder the new style one on, which had heaver gauge wires going into it and a more heat resistant type of plastic. Definitely a band-aid fix and I'm sure it's impossible to find now. But a 3G would fix so many problems.
