Has any one tried to use the Terminator X to replace their A9L,P? Thinking of buying one.

Engine Tech / Changing a A9L to Mega Squirt
I'm trying to replace my A9L because no one here in Southern Nevada can tune it. They have a problem with OBD-1. Will a Mega Squirt work? Is it OBD-2? I'm not a computer whiz so I don't know if there is something out there that is basically plug and play?
I'm not positive but I think the modifications I have done exceed the capabilities of the A9L.
Appreciate the help.

Engine Tech / New Radiator
Thought I'd ask the brain trust about a new radiator for my Turbo Coupe. I know a lot of you guys have heavily modified cars and was wondering what type of radiator you use. Just got my A/C working in my car, swapped over from R12 to R134. Living in Southern Nevada summer cruising is a real challenge. Car is running about 210* in traffic. Air temp is in excess of 110*. I'd like to avoid a potential problem. I run the stock fan with a Cobra fan clutch and a 190* t-stat. Motor is a modified 5.0. I would like to keep my fan and shroud if possible.

Body/Appearance/Interior / Cowl Hood Project
Thought I'd post some pictures of my cowl hood project. This is the finished product but I have pictures of the fabrication process if anyone is interested. I've been saving a hood from my old Sport for 15 years in the hopes of someday building a cowl hood. A friend of mine, who is a master at fabrication, decided to help me build it. What I wanted was a steel hood with a 2 inch cowl that followed the factory lines. The main problem was how to retain the shape of the hood during fabrication, the curve front to back and side to side. I wanted it to look like it came that way from the factory. What we ended up doing was building a 2x3in square channel frame for the bottom, bolting it at the hinge and latch location and adding 4 clips screwed to the hood on the sides. The top was a different story. We decided to use 10ga plate, spot weld tabs to the hood and then weld the plate to the tabs. We did this in 3 locations running front to back. This allowed us to cut the hood on both sides and raise the back 2 inches without destroying the shape of the hood.

Suspension/Steering / Brake lines
As part of my TC remodel I am going to replace my rotors, pads, and rubber brake lines. I also am going to replace the Teves ABS with a 93 Cobra MC and brake booster. I have 5 lug 88 LSC rotors and calipers. Does anyone have a suggestion as far as the brand/type of brake lines to use?

Does anyone know what master cylinder, brake booster can be used as a direct replacement for the Turbo Coupe brakes?

Engine Tech / Replacing Intake, throttle body- questions?
Getting ready to make some changes to my 87 Turbo Coupe and thought I'd run it past the braintrust.

What I have in my car now-
88 Lincoln LSC 5.0
BBK shortie headers, Cobra 2.5in exhaust, X pipe, cats, Flowmasters
MAF conversion, 70mm Ford MAF, calibrated for 19lb injectors
Ford Racing 19lb injectors
BBK thru fender air intake
MSD 6A ignition
A9L computer
Stock intake w/ 1" spacer.

What I plan on changing-
Install 97 Mountaineer HO intake.
Install 70mm throttle body calibrated for 19lb injectors. Any preference on what brand to buy? BBK, Professional Products? Will this work with my existing Ford 70mm MAF?
Using the EGR spacer as a spacer, blocking it off. Need to keep it in place because of the BBK air intake. Is there a 2" 70mm blank plate available?
Remove the smog pump and thermactor system, blank off ports at rear of heads. Install Ford pump delete bracket.
Remove the TAD, TAB relays and vac lines. Will I get any codes?
Also going to remove unnecessary Turbo Coupe wiring and re-work the existing wiring harness to clean it up.
I would like to clean up the A/C lines if possible. Any ideas?

Thinking about re-covering my dash. Does anyone have any experience doing this? If so what's the best brand? Know any other way to fix it?

Wondering if anyone had the trim that goes around the radio, A/C control that they would sell? Had to cut mine to install the gauges by the shifter. Now that I'm building a new cluster.... I honestly don't remember cutting it. Gettin' old.

Electrical Tech / Replace instrument cluster
I'm planning on replacing the instrument cluster on my TurboCoupe. I'm going to make one and use Auto Meter gauges. Has anyone tried this? Advice on the wiring and building one would be appreciated. I do have a full set of the Ford schematics.

Just wanted to say "HI". I've been registered on your site for awhile but this is the first time I'm posting. Great site. I've got an 87 TC that I bought in 03 that someone started the 5.0 conversion. It spent the next 2yrs. in my garage. Almost every piece on this car has been replaced. It has the 5 lug conversion with Lincoln LSC brakes, '94 T-5 tranny, '96 Mustang "H" pipe with Flowmasters, '88 Mustang 5.0 HO motor with the A9L computer and mass air conversion. The donor car was my original 87 Sport Coupe that was t-boned. I have pictures but can't figure out how to attach them. Help?
