Title: Canfield heads....
Post by: 88FoxBird on January 07, 2010, 08:48:08 PM
....are no more. Now this sucks. I'm always up for supporting local business plus I could go down the road a ways and pick up a set of heads straight from the shop. Looks like that wont be happening.

Hmmm...I hadn't heard anything about this before. And I work in Canfield. :hick:

That sucks though, they were ed nice heads and something that I'd always wanted to get. And like you, I like to support local companies as much as possible. Well, there's always Trick Flow, made in Tallmadge and sold at Summit. That's about as local as it gets now...

Auction back in October....

Apparently it was a "retirement asset sale"

Canfield style heads will still be produced.  The difference is you're gonna have to figure out which company bought what.  One company bought the SBF line, another the BBC line and so on.....

Yeah I keep forgetting TFS are made in tallmadge and thats even more local to me, cost more than canfield though, oh well. I am curious who bought the SBF castings.

I heard the same.  There's talk about it on the Chevelle boards.

I must be behind the times, as those were quite a bit more expensive than the TFS heads, at least was the case when I bought mine... Also the Canfields were designed as more of a all out race head and aren't as well suited for low speed street operation...

They came down a bit there towards the end. The TFS equivalent of the Canfield head was a little more I think. I dunno I could be mixing up manufacturers the more I think about it lol. Shopping for heads for yours and helping someone else find a set for theirs get confusing sometimes lol.
