BIG UPDATE
Got my kid a car this past satuday

http://teamnir.net/forum/index.php?act=Attach&type=post&id=5685

1985 Ford T-bird
3.8 v6
3 speed auto
power locks,seats,windows,mirrors
am/fm cassette ( will be replaced with a CD player)
AC

$2000.00

ONLY 57,130 miles on her

Got it off of a little old lady who only drove it to church and the store
NO REALLY a little old lady ,well was her granddaughter.
Grandma was going into a nursinghome and would not need it anymore, had to sell it.
They owned it since 87 kept it cleaned up and in a garage.

Only two small rust spots on rear deck lid and maybe 2 or 3 scratches on the whole car. the front bumper trim is faded.

Even with the bad rep of the 3.8 v6 head gaskets I could not pass this car up.
Just needs some chrome rims and BFG tires.

Now I can teach him to drive and park my 86 5.0 Bird and get some mush needed work done to her.

I to wrecked my mom's car 8 weeks after getting my license and beat the heck out of my first car(77 nova RS)

He will see it for the first time on 12/18/04(B-day party)
I have it hid now in my dad's back yard.
The next day he will be changing oil and lubeing the chassie.

Praying that if I get him to take care of it and do his own repairs right from day one he will not have to learn the hard as many of us did.

Very nice car!  With that low of miles, you should have nothing to worry about.

Get some 15" stock mustang style rims.  They'll help the handling and firm up the wishy-washy ride. Plus they won't rust or anything. Looks just like my car did after I bought it.
