Fuel Pressure Gauge Location

Hi All,

I was wondering if anyone had any experience with adding a mechanical fuel pressure gauge to a stock 5.0 fuel rail setup. Long story short, I didn't realize there was a schrader valve on the hard line coming off the fuel rails when I redid the fuel system during my swap, and I ended up trashing said hard line in place of a new rubber line and connector. I attached a picture to show what I mean. I also ended up ordering a Kirban adjustable fuel pressure regulator to throw into the mix and again did not account for it's lack of pressure port for a gauge. In what location would you guys recommend adding the gauge?

Thanks,

Dan

Not sure how you would do it other than this:

And add this fitting between the pressure side fitting going into the fuel rail and the hose fitting:

This is the way I did it on my '93 Coupe as the lines between the rails and hard lines on the car were crimping due to them being plastic.

Thanks man, have you every gone with aftermarket fuel rails on any of your cars? If so, do you think it's worth the cost especially on a smaller horsepower application like mine?

I have the BBK fuel rails on my car and still had to drill and tap for the pressure gauge and valve. By the time you buy the rails, adjustable pressure regulator, pressure gauge, An fittings, braided lines you will be over $400- $500. Not really worth it on a basically stock motor.
