question without EGR

I have an EGR block off plate on the upper intake manifold. On the old EGR unit there was a vacuum line hooked up to it that run to something round which turned into a wire from. Now I hooked that vacuum line up to the vacuum tree. Could that possibly be the thing making me car die when i take it out of gear sometimes?

That is either a vacuum restrictor or vacuum one way check valve. It should not be there. I wouldn't think it would matter one way or the other with the block off plate. Did it stall before the block off plate? I would pay close attention to the thread near yours "missing and stalling". He appears to be fighting a similar issue. Haystack is working with him on the issue and he knows a lot about emissions bypassing and the PCM's reactions to it. Honestly I feel your problem is somewhere else.
