One day it will be!

I probably could have sourced a rail from a Crown Vic or truck or something, but I figured I'd bite the bullet and go with a universal FPR. I was going to have to buy a lot of the fittings and stuff anyway, and an adjustable FPR (Ford specific) was gonna cost 70 beans anyway, plus the cost of a rail and shipping, so this only ends up 20 or 30 bucks more.

One more thing off the list.

Modded rail for 7/16x20 plug. Trimmed off old fpr mounting. Painted injectors, installed to rail and plopped it in.

Had to mod the oil fill by cutting down the original neck and using part of the Explorer piece.

Moving on....

LOL Spoken for truth!

Just as a tip for y'all, The injector rails are SO easy to do if you lightly smear some Vaseline on all the o-rings, then put the injectors into the rail, then push it into the intake. No drama.

new filter screen for pcv

Yeah, it needed changed! $3.50 from NAPA. I wonder how many are out there looking like this right now??

This lives under the PCV grommet at the back of the intake. Jam some long needlenose pliers into the mesh screen and keep yanking until it comes out.

Ran into a snag trying to mount the tank. Can't find the filler tube gasket for the tank. Got one coming from latemodelrestoration.com for 17.00 shipped. Ford is getting 32.00 for them right now.

Hopefully it'll be here by the weekend.

Ripped into the Explorer wiring harness to start on an engine harness for the 'bird.  I thought I'd use the Mustang harness, but the connectors are different on the throttle body and IAC, plus the Explorer already has all the wires in it for EDIS. It's the best solution in the end.

Tank gasket showed up, so progress imminent.

Explorer harness is stripped down to wires I will use, and all labeled for splicing into the MS harness. I also got out my 4R70W harness and matched the Ford wires to the wires on the Baumann. Just need to dig up the EDIS wiring diagram from a 4.6 Crown Vic and I can make the engine harness.

Well, changed out my headbolts for ARP studs yesterday after getting some advice from a trusted source. He said I'd be sorry if I didn't do it, so it's done.

Had to pull the hotside off again for access to the bolts, no biggy since it needs painted and wrapped anyway. Taking the PS hoses up to NAPA Thurs. to get a custom line made up. Gotta make a -10 turbo drain line yet. It is going to be a challenge I think, but will be do-able.

Major points of the wiring brainteaser are: changing out the integrated relay unit for separate relays and re-routing power to/from those instead of through the harness. Rear mounting the battery and fuel pump relay. Integrating the 4R70W harness into the main wiring and to the Baumann computer, changing to MS with EDIS spark control, rewiring the AC WOT cutout and fan relays, re-wiring headlamp circuit with relays, wiring trunk for carpc and new amp, installing OD Mustang shifter with it's wiring, adapting to the 4G Explorer alternator without overstressing the original wires, and keeping all original TC functions intact; cruise control, emission control, etc.

This can be done.

Power steering solution. Joined the Tbird and Explorer lines with a 3/8" flare union. We'll see if it holds up to the pressure. Gas tank with POR 15 on seams and rust-pr0ne areas.
