Glad to see some of us are actually getting something done. I have tomorrow off and plan on doing.....well....anything.LOL.

Keep posting the pics of the car coming together..  I get inspired at everyone else's progress. I'm trying to keep up.

Lookin' good! Keep at it, I'm slowly working on getting mine back in a mobile condition as well.

Its all a slow drawn out artfull process... I started assembly today. I got the kmember in and squared. Lower control arms, spindles, coilovers (not in fully waiting on C/C plates, Booster and mastercylinder, shes my wonderful PITA but I love her.

Kickin some tail and flappin some wings.

I ordered my caster camber plates today. All I have left is a few expensive rinky  things then the front suspention is done. Prop. valve, rotors, pads and then its time to focus on the rear. going to start off by ordering my CHE control arms, then fix up my battle boxes undercoat the tar out of it when the subframe connectors are welded in all nice. Then all I really have to address is my leaky pinion seal and get my new diff cover installed, shoot it all black and run with it. New brake lines, new fuel lines. You know the list.

She's not too bad from the front of the rocker back, just a little scabby. My next no-dough mods are to use what materials I have and make my own battle box reinforcements, and subframe connectors. Gonna clean it up real nice and go from there I suppose. Everything came out real easy aside from the lower control arms.... The bolts through the torque boxes were rusted solid in the bushing... A little...err ALOTTA heat and and an impact and they came out after about 10 minutes of fighting with them... Can't wait to toss in some CHE uppers and lowers.

...... I kid around with my brothers, they think I'm making real good progress, and I am.... But I always give 'em a hard time saying things like I cant wait til I'm b*tchin' because the timing is off.. or I  ran out of wax...

Hey Awesome job!  That is going to be sweet when it is done!  I had been thinking about doing this to my cougar sometime.  I have a lot of things I "want" to do lol.

Thanks man. It just takes a lotta-bit of time, a small fortune, and more patience than Ill ever have.. Ordered my wilwood prop valve, torque box reinforcements and a trickflow diff girdle should be here today, and the girdle tomorow...cause fedex sucks.

And to add a side note... I really need to stay off of CHE's site... I see alllllll sorts of pretty parts that I cant order.....yet. After I get the torque boxes all built up and subframe connectors welded in and all seam sealed and all that good stuff Im going to sell my kidneys and possibly an arm or leg and buy the adjustable lowers and fixed uppers the axel brace CHE has... I want one after the rear is in the car of course. Ive got a boatload of little things Im gonna buy inbetween then and now. Alan gave me a couple great ideas to stiffen the rear up and be able to run 325/50/15's out back homina homina

but wheels and tires are the very least of my worries at this perticular moment those will roll on in around tax time.

Today I tore apart the interior. All thats left is the dash and column. I intended to just pull the back seat for my installation of the torquebox reinforcements... that led to taking the front seats out... which led to taking the console out.. which led to pulling the ratty carpet out... that led to pulling the sail panels out... that led to pulling the ratty head liner out... I ended up peeling all the sound deadener out while I was in there... now im really ready for those torque box peices... and to my utter surprize... my floors are SOLID. Yeah they have a couple scabby areas but nothing some time and some etch primer cant fix.. its all going to be undercoated anyway. Im excited.




And I retract my previous statement about Fedex sucking... UPS was sopposed to have my other box of parts here yesterday........ Well they wont be here until monday now. so fedex FTW atleast they were on time with theyre schedule

My interior looked like that a few months ago. Makes me cringe. I was really glad to have it back together. Keep up the good work, and keep us posted on everything. I like the diff. cover. I have a new 8.8 girdle on my tool box I want to install eventually. Gotta get a passenger side axle first. I wish I had the funds to do the K-frame swap. That would be awesome. In the end, will your car be primarily a street car? Are you keeping the "creature comforts" when you're done?

In the long run, I want to build an all purpose car. Somthing I can get in and drive one day. Somthing that can corner, eat up the strip and be fairly tame on  the streets. Somthing all in all strong and powerful enough to put a smile on my face and have no fear of breaking under hard launches.

I had the goal of making her a prosteet car. powerful to lift the wheels off the ground and show these kids of my generation what a real car is.

The k-frame and coil over swap was a milestone yes. but the first time I set this self proclaimed beast back on the ground Im going to probably stay in the garage for a week just staring at it

It's looking good.

It's suprisingly intact (rust wise) for a Midwest car.
88 Thunderbird LX: 306, Edelbrock Performer heads, Comp 266HR cam, Edelbrock Performer RPM intake, bunch of other stuff.
