Body/Appearance/Interior / aftermarket fenders
Does anyone have any experience with aftermarket fenders for our cars? I'm planning on replacing the driver side fender on my Thunderbird. Apparently the sound deadening behind the fender liner was trapping dirt in the lower part of the fender. There is some internal rust back there I'd rather not fix and, since the cars being re-painted anyway, I'd rather just replace the fender. I have a line on both a new, aftermarket replacement fender and a NOS Ford fender. There's about a 6 times difference in price between the two, with the Ford NOS fender obviously being the more expensive option. Is it worth it to pay $$$ for the Ford fender or will the aftermarket fender work just as well, as far as fit and finish go?

I just noticed Late Model Restoration sells replacement front frame rails for 79-93 Mustangs.

Would these be an option for a Fox Thunderbird/Cougar that needs rotted frame rails replaced? If the rails have the same dimensions between the two cars it would make frame repairs easier for Fox Thunderbird/Cougar owners.

Body/Appearance/Interior / Mark VII headliner, fit an 87-88 Thunderbird?
Does anyone happen to know if a Mark VII headliner will fit in an 87-88 Thunderbird? I have a plan to eventually install a Mark VII overhead console into my Thunderbird. I'd like to swap the Mark VII headliner in instead of cutting the stock Thunderbird headliner up to accommodate the Mark VII overhead console.

Body/Appearance/Interior / Emblem part numbers, 87-88 Thunderbird
Does anyone happen to have the part numbers for the following 87-88 Thunderbird emblems? Since I'm getting my car painted I figured I might as well try to find some NOS emblems rather than re-use the 29 year old factory ones. I need the following part numbers:

Thunderbird emblems on the C-pillars

"Thunderbird" trunk/deck-lid script

"LX" trunk/deck-lid script

Body/Appearance/Interior / Painting 88 XR7 side molding SEM trim black/removing factory paint
So I have found a NOS driver's door molding for an 88 XR7 (thank you major metro area). The issue is that it is white. I'm assuming the molding is just a regular 87-88 Thunderbird/Cougar molding painted white by the factory correct? If so I should be able to just paint it with SEM trim black and it should match the regular 87-88 side moldings. Unless anyone has a way to get the factory paint off without damaging the rubber underneath.

T-Bird/Cougar Parts & Cars WANTED / 1987-1988 Thunderbird base, LX, Sport, or Cougar LS
So I'm kinda looking for an 87-88 Thunderbird base, LX, Sport, or Cougar LS. I don't care what engine, color, options, etc. Not even picky about rust or mileage. All I really care is if the body side moldings are straight, the belt moldings are straight, and the dash parts are good. Honestly I mostly want to buy the car and strip it for spare parts. So in other words a car that isn't in the greatest of shape that I can buy cheap and then s the shell.

That is unless I can find all the stuff I want as spare parts without buying a whole car, which is becoming unlikely.

And cheap means less than $1000, preferably a lot less :mullet:
