Fuel sender leak

So I started the Cougar after 5 mos. of hibernation.  Fired right up but started  gas all over at the back of the car.  Yanked the tank, and sure enough it was the fuel sender lines coming out of the top of the tank:mad: . After pricing out some new senders ($400 cdn) I was determined to just put new lines into the old sender but I didn't want to lose my factory quick connectors for high pressure reliability.  Luckily the parts guy at the Ford dealer told me he could get repair lines and showed me a pic in the catalogue.  PERFECT!  Instead of ordering them (he said 1 week) I shopped around.  Most of the local parts places (NAPA,Ray-Mac, APC) carried them or could get them.  APC had the exact lines I needed in stock.  All installation requires is to cut off the old lines flush with the top of the sender and the new lines are tapered to slide into the existing lines and then solder them into place. VOILA! good as new and the new lines accept the quick connects. Also the had in stock a new retainer ring with gasket to hold down the sender.  Some rust paint and I'm good to go.  :rollin:
