Drivetrain Tech / Opinions on my combination
You can just repin the O2 harness.  You will need to get a 1993 Mustang Cobra brake booster and master cylinder for that combination of brakes.  I would run stainless steel braided lines and you can get the kit from Maximum Motorsports here:

http://www.maximummotorsports.com/store/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=49_144_469

You will also need the 3 to 2 port conversion kit which is here:

http://www.maximummotorsports.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=49_140&products_id=673

You should also gut the stock proportioning valve in the combination block below the master cylinder.  You can see how to do this here:

After you do this you will need a manual proportioning valve like this one:

And the cap for the end of the proportioning valve:

Here is a link to a really comprehensive site on what you are wanting to do with the brakes.  Lots of good info on what to use and how to install it.  Just use the "Next Page" to get to page 11 and it goes over the MC and PV installations.

Engine Tech / New Clicking Sound from Engine Update!
Have you swapped the plug wires around to see if it follows the plug wires?  What I mean by this is completely remove the #7 plug wire and see if you can use it for the #8 or #6 wire and then use that wire for the #7 wire.  Do this on the passenger side as well for the #3 wire.

Do you know how to get the motor to TDC and set the distributor up to be on the #1 wire position?  If not go here:

And like everyone else said take it to an exhaust shop and have them check it out for you.  It should not cost you a dime for them to give it the once over.

First, sorry for the long delay in getting these pictures posted.  I was in a wedding last weekend (no, not mine) and work has been hectic.  Hopefully this will give you an idea of what I was talking about.

Hopefully the wait was worth it:hick:

Drivetrain Tech / tempting much?
There are plenty of 8.8's out there behind some low 9 second Mustangs on slicks with no issues.  Most of the road race cars I see in NASA all have a cambered 8.8 with about 1 deg of negative camber in the axle tubes.  The housing itself and the carrier & pinion bearings are a good design.  You just have to build the rest to stand up to what they can handle just like the 9 inch.

Why not just find a TC 8.8 rear?  3.73's, disc brakes, and its basically a bolt in that can be had for anywhere from $100 to $200 complete.  If you want to dress it up then you can strip it down to just the gears being in it and have a local place sand blast it and then paint it black.  I did this and it worked really well.  Just duct taped the axle tubes openings up and told the guy to be careful around those but usually sand blasting units will not eat through the duct tape.  Once that was done and the paint was cured I rebuilt the trac lok, installed new axle bearings and seals, rebuilt the back brakes and we installed it in my buddy's Mustang.  It was the best upgrade he had ever done for about $250.  It took a new 93 Cobra MC and adjustable proportioning valve for the rear discs but man that car stopped well and it was a huge improvement over the stock 3.08 gears.  He already had the SVO or Lincoln front calipers so the brakes were balanced pretty well and it maintain the four bolt pattern on the wheels.

Just a side note, if you are looking to go five lug then I would change this up a little but it would basically be the same.

Suspension/Steering / Which brake booster? 1993 Cobra or GT/SVO?
Use the 93 Cobra booster and MC.  The booster should bolt right up to the existing holes in the firewall and the MC has the same threads as your stock MC so you will not have to change the ends on the brake lines and do double flares.  You will however need a 3 to 2 port conversion kit as your stock MC is of a 3 port design and the newer Cobra design is a 2 port design.  Maximum Motorsports sells them and I believe if you hunt around on the net you can find the part numbers of the fittings to make one yourself but this is all depending on the local parts stores having these fittings and you will need to make brake lines where the MM kit comes with everything ready to go.  You will also need to gut the proportioning valve side of the stock PV/SV unit which is the brass block below the stock MC.  This will require you to install an aftermarket proportioning valve so you can adjust the rear bias on the brakes.

I just realized you already have the SVO MC so disregard that in my comment above.  Get the 93 Cobra booster.  They are more expensive than the SN95 boosters but they fit much better.

Lounge / Looking for a plater......
What about Ramos in OKC?  They were very reasonable when I got my hood hinges, prop rod, and hood latch chromed there.  Granted it was over ten years ago but they were recommended by a couple of the guys that are in the SW Street Rod Assoc.

Engine Tech / gt-40 heads and explorer intake
If you have about $100 then there is a guy that is one Corral that can rework the lower intake and it will make a huge difference.  His name is Tom Moss and I had him port the lower on my old Cobra intake setup and it made an honest 25hp difference on the dyno.  He goes by TMoss on the Corral and you can just PM him for the details.  Lots of guys are running ported lowers by him and swear by them.

He has a ton of tech docs here: http://eectuning.org/forums/viewforum.php?f=17

Suspension/Steering / 5 lug, and lowered or not..
If you are referring to the five lug Cobra R wheels then they will not fit with the Mark VII front hubs as I tried to fit a set up on my Coupe when it had the Mark VII hubs.  I am also pretty sure the Y2K's will not fit either as they are for the same hub design.  I ran the 94-97 Cobra wheels with the Mark VII hubs.  Wheels like on the 97 GT will physically bolt up to the Mark VII hubs but the center cover will not fit due to the wider design of the spindle.  Some have claimed they have removed the dust cap and they have fit but I only saw that happen on a car that was also using spacers.

I have purchased several sets of take offs for the SN95 cars for $100 to $150 and the ones at $150 came with the struts even though I did not want them but that is how they sold them.  So it was strut, spindle, rotor, caliper, caliper soft line, and the castle nut per side.

Suspension/Steering / Alignment Specs
The 83-86 cars use the Fox Mustang lower control arm.  The 87-88 cars use the SN95 Mustang lower control arm.  I believe the only hang up you will have is that the SN95 control arms will come with the SN95 ball joint which will be too short to install the Fox spindle on.  You can swap the SN95 ball joint for the Fox ball joint if you need to and if that was the case I would just salvage yard a set of the SN95 arms and get some Fox ball joints from a parts house.  Your other option would be to mill down the Fox spindle where the castle nut goes.  I have seen this done before and if you have access to a mill or cheap access then is it also a viable solution and you get to keep the better design of the SN95 ball joint.

I will be able to pop a seat out this evening and take a couple of pictures of what I did as far as the adapters go.
