carb spacer

ive got a 351w in my 88 sport and i bought a 1 inch carb spacer to run the carb  cooler. and im wondering if i have enough room under the hood for it to fit i havent tried it yet. ive got a edlebrock 750cfm carb ontop of a performer rpm intake with a small air filter i dont know the exact height but its probably about 2 inches tall and six inches wide. does anyone know if that will clear my hood? its a stock hood for a sport bird.

Not to hijack your thread, but did you have to do anything special to fit the engine under the stock hood?  I'm toying with the idea of swapping the 3.8 in my '87 base model for a carb'd 302 or 351,  and I've read that I might need a hood scoop or need to space the k-member down to lower the engine if I go 351.  Did you run into any problems?
