Misc Tech / Re: Rear interior sail panel lamps.
Mine are functional and are all there, however the fake chrome on the beauty ring that surrounds it has seen better days.  It's such that no one sits in the rear of the car anymore and it was probably years since I actually took a good look at them.  I got a lot going on right now.  Shoot me a pic of what you got.  If they're clean we can work something out.

Misc Tech / Re: Rear interior sail panel lamps.
I actually saw those which led me to do a little digging and contributed to my initial post.  I actually wish I could find the trim surround by itself but that appears to be a no-go.

Misc Tech / Rear interior sail panel lamps.
Anybody have a part number for the rear interior light housings on the sail panels, specifically the 87-88s?  Probably something along the lines of "XXXX-13776-a".

Reason I ask is that the it appears that the trim surround and wiring on these didn't really change much over a 30 year span and the biggest change seems to be the type of bulb used.  This may open up a lot of possibilities.  Looks like some of the older late 60s-early 70s models use a type 89 bulb or equivalent.  That'd probably be one you'd wanna use an LED in place of an incandescent.

User Rides / Re: Back in a fox. 1988 Turbo Coupe. The life journal.
You really ran with the whole "windshield washers are for the weak" what with driving it to work and having it rain, lol.  Nothing but rain on the eastern seaboard for 3 weeks now....

Exactly what some weak ass would say.

This from the guy who messaged me bitching about the rain  :toothless:

I also told you that if you want one of those NIB Borlas I have sitting here, it's yours.  ;)

Other Vehicles / Well, I did a thing.....
Last week, a guy who lives less than a mile from me wasn't paying attention, plowed into my legally parked and unoccupied Dodge, and subsequently pushed it into my neighbor's 2019 Honda Accord Sport that had 6 feet of space.
Oh yes, my neighbor was actually in his Honda at the time to boot.  I'm actually hoping they don't total out the Dodge because there's no way I'll find another decent 4X4 at a reasonable price around here unless it's 20 years old or has a ridiculous amount of miles on it.

Anyway, I'd been tossing around the idea of buying my friend's 89 LSC and we had discussed the topic a few days prior to the Dodge incident.  A price was negotiated and we both figured to do the transaction after the new year.  We sped up the time table due to the cirspoogestances.

41K miles
Brand new rotors, calipers, pads, and acspoogeulator with 150 miles on them when I got it.  3k miles on the transmission.  This car has been on here before Dave (My83T) owned it before my friend Mike.

EATC - Redesigned Replacement Control Head

AIR CONDITIONING - ELECTRONIC AUTOMATIC TEMPERATURE CONTROL (EATC) - SERVICE TIPS FOR REPLACEMENT OF
REDESIGNED CONTROL HEAD - VEHICLES BUILT BEFORE 4/21/90

FORD:1985-88 THUNDERBIRD
LINCOLN-MERCURY: 1984-87 CONTINENTAL
1984-90 MARK VII
1985-88 COUGAR

ISSUE:

The EATC control was redesigned in April, 1990. It has a center mode button labeled "VENT" and requires a new ambient temperature
sensor calibrated to match the new control. Using the wrong sensor will bias the interior temperature 5-10~ F from the set point.

ACTION:

If an old level EATC control head is replaced with a new level control head, a new ambient temperature sensor (F0LY-19E642-A),
identified by a white plastic body, must also be installed.

If a vehicle equipped with the old level control head (center button labeled "A/C") requires a new ambient temperature sensor assembly, use
(E4LY-19E642-A), identified by a black plastic body.

If the (E4LY-19E642-A, black body) sensor is not available, use of the (F0LY-19E642-A, white body) sensor will require installation of a new EATC
control head.

I cannot confirm anything with regards to accuracy of that yet.....  Still hunting for the actual source as the person who posted it didn't cite anyone or anything.

*EDIT*

Might be from here.....

.

sorry for the delay.............

.

The Ambient Temperature Sender is located Behind Center Of Radiator Grille under hood.

There was also a TECH Bulletin for replacing the Electronic Automatic Temperature Control (EATC)

Please click on the two links.  They're pictures.  Haven't quite figured out how to insert the actual images from Google Drive on here yet.

Sorry for the long wait.  I actually pulled the In-vehicle sensor today and cleaned it.  It was quite disgusting.
It may even be so bad that it no longer works.  I'm looking through the test procedures in the shop manual now.

Anyway, whether or not I'll need them does ANYONE actually know the part numbers for these or the Motorcraft numbers?  I know they're quite difficult to come by.
