Hi, I'm looking for the bolt-on factory floor pan brace shown in the picture below. It's a curved brace that was on 87-88 dual exhaust T-bird or Cougar. Can pay with PayPal or whatever is convenient. Thanks!
Here's some pictures of my 88 T-bird at the local High School car show. Their mascot is the Mustang, so it's very fitting for a car show in their parking lot I attend every year and it's a lot of fun because there's a wide variety of cars, everything from Mustangs to a few Rolls Royces attended.
Here's my T-bird at the San Francisco Old Car Picnic this past weekend. This is the first year they bumped the minimum model year from '87 to '93 :) http://www.sfcarpicnic.com/
I'm looking to buy the TAB and TAD solenoids (including the mounting bracket and related vacuum lines) from a 5.0L T-bird or Cougar. These are the emission control solenoids mounted on the the passenger side strut tower that control the air from the diverter valve and smog pump.
My car runs really rough the first 1 or 2 mins when I first start it (starts missing really bad). This happens when the engine is both cold and hot. After a few minutes the engine smooths out, runs great and has a lot of power. I have no DTCs, get a 11 for PASS. At first, I thought it was because I modded the engine slightly and have no CATS. As a result, I put a Moates chip on the ECM and have been trying to tune it out for the past year, with no luck.
I'm finally gave up trying to correct the problem with a chip. The more I thought about it, I think my ECM may be bad. For example, when I disconnect the MAF, the engine will died immediately. I would think a good ECM would at least keep the engine runnning. What do you think?
I picked up an 8.8 TurboCoupe axle with 3.73 gears and rear discs. Has anybody here swapped one of these in place of the 7.5? I would like to know what you recommend for a Brake Booster, Master Cylinder, and Prop Valve. for the swap. My car currently has the factory rear drum brakes.
I found out why my car has been running poorly lately....I had a vacuum leak. One of the vacuum caps was falling apart and cracked. The sad part is that I put this vacuum cap on the upper intake when I rebuild the engine only 2 years ago and it's rotten already. So my question is...who makes good vacuum caps these days ,that will last more than a few years?? The ones I had were from NAPA and say made in China.
Just a little background, I currently have 225/60/16 tires on my car, which has the "snowflake" wheels. The car originally came with the 14" wheels, but I upgraded to the snowflakes a long time ago. I really want to put 245/50/16 tires all the way around, but I'm concerned they will rub my front struts. Has anyone 245s up front on the snowflakes? Any help is appreciated!
