General Fox T-Bird/Cougar Discussion / 83 3.8's couldn't come with AOD, could they?
I look at ebay cougars from time to time when I am bored, and I came across this:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/1983-Mercury-Cougar/283019192388?_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20160908105057%26meid%3Dedb899317e664de5a8fd3f939e3c63ba%26pid%3D100675%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D15%26sd%3D283004588074%26itm%3D283019192388&_trksid=p2481888.c100675.m4236&_trkparms=pageci%3A37df62df-7a02-11e8-b049-74dbd1807f74%7Cparentrq%3A412149f71640ac3d2c0efbd6fff83554%7Ciid%3A1

It's a 1983 Cougar with the 3.8. But if you look at the cluster it has the "OD" on the gear selector. What do you think? Cluster swap? Because I didn't think you could get an AOD with the 3.8 until 1988. I know the 5.0 had AOD though. That's why I am thinking cluster swap.

General Fox T-Bird/Cougar Discussion / Dangit! Missed it by THAT much!
I have always kinda wanted a 60s cougar. But in Ohio, whenever I see one, it needs EVERYTHING. I mean like swiss cheese below the knees type of thing. So I pretty much figured I'd never find a cheap one around here that wasn't a rust bucket.

Anyhow, for some freakish reason, I had some energy yesterday. When I got home from work, I spent 4 hours on the lawn. Mowing, tpuppies, edging, sculpting the hedges, all that OCD stuff.

I come inside to relax afterward and start looking at CL, FB marketplace, etc. What's this? A complete, rust-free 1969 cougar? Less than 30 miles from here? What the... Who the... ?? And it's only $2000?! The ad is only 5 hours old. I message them, and it's sold already. IT.

So the moral of the story is, don't obsess over your lawn. LOL

Kinda sucks. That thing looked clean. The engine was torn apart, but that's the easy part in Ohio. You can find engines all day. Finding a rust-free body is the impossible thing. This car still had black floor pans!

I can't believe that thing was gone in just a couple hours. I mean, I can believe it, I just can't believe I missed it.

T-Bird/Cougar Parts & Cars FOR SALE / 1986 Ford LTD Wagon Fox Body For Sale
I know, I know, it's not a cougar or a bird. But at least it's a fox body, and a rare one at that! :D

It's only got 97k miles on it. Runs great, new fat tires on Mustang wheels. Everything works, even the cruise control and ice-cold AC! This car gets people talking everywhere I go.

It's very clean for an Ohio car of its age. No rust on the strut towers or subframe. Just a couple tiny spots of rust on the body. See the pictures. It's really clean. The interior is just about perfect too. No rips anywhere, perfect headliner, Clarion CD/USB/AUX/MP3 stereo.

It's got the 3.8L V6 automatic. I wouldn't hesitate to drive it anywhere. I just drove it 400 miles over the weekend.

You won't find a cleaner fox body station wagon around here, especially one that you can just get in and drive. You won't be disappointed.

It does need a windshield. It's got a crack, but I've just been driving it like that. It also has a minor oil leak. It's a typical 80s 3.8 after all... It never bothered me enough to figure out where it's coming from. You're probably going to pull that v6 out and put a v8 in anyway, aren't you? But you can certainly drive this v6 around for many years to come as you plan your perfect swap.

Here's a link to the craigslist ad with pictures:

User Rides / Just picked up a Fox Wagon!
Of all the million fox bodies I have owned, I have never owned a wagon. Until today!

This is a 1986 LTD Wagon. I didn't even know they made the LTD in '86. I thought it was just 83-85. But apparently they did title the last of the 1985's as 1986 (and just like the 86 cougars, slapped the 3rd brake light on). It's pretty clean. It's only got 96k miles on it. Original 3.8 drivetrain. I drove it 150 miles home with no problems at all. This is going to be my wife's daily driver.

T-Bird/Cougar Parts & Cars FOR SALE / 1983 1984 Red Dash Top
I have a 1983 / 1984 red dash top. I kept it around just in case I found another 83/84 with a py dash. However, I am trying to clean up and some of these bigger items have to go. It's in decent shape, no cracks across the top. It does have a crack on the driver-side edge from where I dropped it (DOH!). It's a little dirty from being on a shelf for 10+ years too, but it should clean up. It's slightly sun faded, but I think it's still presentable.

I don't have a way to ship it, but I'll take $40 if you come get it. Near Mansfield OH.

Site Suggestions / Site Suggestion
You know how every now and then, somebody will post a question about their "other car"? Or when somebody posts pics of a new car that isn't a cat/bird? I just wonder if we could have a sub-section called "Our OTHER Cars" or something similar. I get different cars all the time, and I know many of you probably do too. It'd be fun to post pics and kick around ideas with you guys about our other cars too without cluttering up our cat/bird areas. I hate joining other forums just because I bought a different car, LOL.

So- wadda ya think? If it's a dumb idea, that's fine too. I am just throwing it out there to see what you guys think.

Body/Appearance/Interior / Factory full digital cluster in a 3.8?
I saw this ebay auction (not mine):

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ford-Thunderbird-Base-Sedan-2-Door-1986-ford-thunderbird-classic-american-sportscar-89-920-miles-/201301768119?forcerrptr=true&hash=item2ede8537b7&item=201301768119&pt=US_Cars_Trucks

I thought it was weird that it has a full digital cluster and it's only the 3.8. I don't know that I have ever seen a full digital on a 3.8 car. Have you fellas?
