Lounge / Re: Welcome To The New Board!
Looks like we might have a restriction to attach images inline? I made a dummy post under the computer section just to upload my old sig pic so I could link to it. It uploads, but it won't display inline with the img tags. I can display an inline pic that is hosted somewhere else, just not my own attachments.

I read this might be some post-count limitation on certain BB software packages.

Ok, tweaked some settings, please try again now.

I see now a little green icon next to the attachment. When I click it, it has options like "attach inline", etc. This would probably normally be what we need. But when I attach it that way, it adds "attach" tags around an attachment number, but when I do "preview" it's just an "X" where the pic should be.

So long story short, it still doesn't work ;)

Lounge / How to sell a cougar convertible
Quote from: 85CougarCobra;466967
I'm listening ...

I live in PA and have been loosely hunting one for sometime.  I've come across four in the last year and half for sale.

Three of those were probably the one I bought, then sold, then the next owner reselling it again, lol.

It was a fun car, but I realized after owning it that I am far too pale to enjoy a convertible. I burned up so bad driving it around with the top down.

Body/Appearance/Interior / Alternate Cruise Controls
Mine had one of those turn signal stalk cruise levers, but it wasn't hooked up. The car only had 32k miles on it when I got it, so I'd like to know the story there. A dealer option that never got finished? Maybe?

Oh well, the high-beam switch portion went bad and I replaced it with a "regular" non-cruise stalk. I think I still have the cruise stalk around somewhere.

General Fox T-Bird/Cougar Discussion / Brought home an LX parts car today, or did I?
It's probably just a dead/dying pump. When mine died, it went silent. After screwing around, banging on the tank and all those hail-mary tricks, it did come one one final time, just enough to drive it home, then never ran again. It's not uncommon for a dead pump to give a couple death throes here and there, lol.

There could also be a big mouse nest on top of the tank. Mine had that too when I first bought it (after sitting for 8 years). No wiring damage, thank goodness, but there was about a 20" circle of nest debris up there. It is a nice spot for a nest, if I do say so myself, lol.

Don't forget to replace that in-tank rubber hose that goes from the pump to the top of the sending unit too. Even if it looks OK. They all go bad eventually (crack and leak) and cause low fuel pressure.

Notice how long the two tone cars been sitting? :) The black car with the turbo coupe style interior  does show as a sport according to the vin.

Tried to start the car today. No go. Pretty sure its a fuel pump issue. Fires if you give it a little starting fluid and fuel barely trickles out of the pressure fitting at all if at all, most times none. Have I mentioned that I hate changing a fuel pump?

It could even be that rubber hose in the fuel tank is split or rotted from age. Mine split, and it caused the same issue, just a dribble at the schrader valve. That's not a whole lot of comfort though, you still have to drop the tank and pull the pump to fix it. And you might as well replace/upgrade the pump while you are in there. Because I didn't, and the pump went out like 10k miles later, lol.

Electrical Tech / Can anyone help me ID this?
I have owned a couple cougars with ATC, but I have never had to work on the system. Most of my fox bodies have had the manual setup.

Many members on here are knowledgeable with the ATC system, and/or have the shop manuals and could probably tell you the function of that sensor. So while this post isn't helpful at all, it's a bump back to the top for ya.
