I thought I read somewhere it would cause issues with the digital volt/amp gauge in the dash unless it was somehow bridged? I may be over thinking it. Thank you for your response.
I’m wanting to do a 3g upgrade on my 85 Tbird ( 5.0). My car has the full digital dash and I was curious if anything would be different in regards to doing this swap / upgrade?
I contacted the company on EBay and theirs does have the perforated cut out. I ordered it and hope to have it in a few days. Eric, I took your advice and order new clips ( push pins) from LMR. I am working on multiple things at one time on this car. But I guess that’s with all “ Hobby Cars”.
Having problems with my 85 Tbird. The air isn’t coming through the vents or defrost. I had to clean a lot of stuff from the blower motor since the car sat in the garage over winter. Is it possible more stuff/debris is in the housing and how difficult is it to get to. I can’t run codes yet because I discovered my alternator needs replaced and can’t do that until next weekend. Also the blower motor is still very loud which usually means debris is still there, correct?
Where can I find the under hood mat/insulation for a 85 T-bird. I see some on EBay but not sure of quality. Just curious if anyone on here had replaced them before . I could just delete it but I’m sure the paint underneath wobble that great.
Not to get too far off it I didn’t know you could convert the 83-85 motor to HO? I thought it had to be 86 and up( roller cam motors). What all is involved in gaining more power in the 83-85 model?
Car looks great. It will definitely be a nice cruiser. What wheels are you gonna go with? 10 holes would give it that’ factory look . I think white ( or black)mesh wheels would complement the car really well but they are such a pain to keep clean.
It’s been awhile but If I recall correctly, you can push the button all the way in while pulling up on the handle. It still may be difficult to remove but I “think “ that’s how they come off. At one time Ron Hartman had a few of those white pieces for sale. Not sure what they are called. Ron is on a lot of the Tbird FB pages. Good luck and let us know if this works.
Thank you everyone for the info. That helps a lot. My car isn’t a daily driver or high H.P car so I will probably go with CHE. They are less costly and they offer a 10% off thanks to Eric & CoolCats!
How long have you had the CHE units? Are you satisfied with them? They are less money than the other brand. Can you post a picture of your car? Curious about the ride height. Thank you
