Misc Tech / A/C Question
Quote from: ZondaC12;383280
Nope, that's a pretty new feature, reminded to us by every little quick auto maintenance guide. But these just take it right from inside the void underneath the plastic snap-in fine grates above the firewall. One time I found a pine needle in the passenger footwell of my crown vic, and no one had ridden in the car for months, and the windows were never opened. There was another one hanging in the recirculating "Max A/C" inlet grate right in front of the fan :hick:

Maybe the pine made it smell good? :)

Yep, they'll pack the blower cage-wheel between all the fins with insulation from all over the car.  Fan will spin but won't grab any air. PITFA.  They nest there because they come in the HVAC intake at the cowl and once they get to the blower the next thing in line is the A/C coil in the heater box so they usually don't go any further.  3 bolts and that blower housing drops out from under the dash so you can clean it. Take the glove box out so you can reach in through there.

I'll do that. Btw, do these cars have cabin filters? I figured if it did, considering mine has 260K, that's probably clogged as well. Just not sure where it's located, assuming it exists.

...and I'm sure you're well stocked up on forum cards to adorn every single spot of those cars with;)

I really don't see many any more and when I do I almost get the urge to follow them until they stop so that I can talk to them but then I remember most people really don't give a  about these cars other than being something to drive and so that would be creepy....

Most of the cars that I do see though are always 4 eyes. I did see a black TC the other day though. The first one I've ever seen out on the road in real life. 87/88 TC's are kinda like bigfoot to me. I've seen lots of pictures but never been near one lol.

Steve, one day we will take a trip up to Brooksville and visit the Roush TC and it's sister car.

Misc Tech / A/C Question
I guess that's something I'll have to check. Still haven't gotten around to doing this yet (studying & work). Plus it's been pretty nice here the past few days...

If anybody has any additional advice, please share.

Misc Tech / A/C Question
I've been DD'ing my bird for the past few days, and it may be a while before I drive anything else. So my question is concerning the air conditioning. It doesn't blow out hard at all, but it cold (new compressor/acspoogeulator within past two years). I believe the blower motor is good, as when I change speeds, the system responds by blowing slightly harder and making more noise. I also got under the passenger side of the dash and fiddled with the controls and it looked like the blower would respond. I'm assuming something is clogged (possibly cabin fiter...?) But would like some guidance as to where to start. I don't have the repair manual with me, otherwise I wouldn't be asking.

Any advice would be appreciated. Btw, this is an '88 3.8 car.

Mine is the "U" for the University of South Florida, the school I attend here in Tampa. I graduate this May with my accounting degree and honestly couldn't be happier!

No. Why?

Just curious. I think it would look cool in white, but it would also look a little too much like a cop car.

Someone on here has a cougar with halo projectors, but I don't think there's a single "secret" to doing it. Someone else here could help me out with name of the member who has them..
