General Fox T-Bird/Cougar Discussion / Debating.
I have a friend who works at the gym that I go to who has an '88 TC. He's not interested in the car much, and he said he'd sell it to me for 1500 with the current mods (blow off valve, upgraded front mount intercooler) or for 1000 with the original stock parts. The car has 200K+ miles on it, but he said it runs great. I've seen it too, raced him once and seen him driving it around campus. So I know it runs. It's a five speed, and I'm pretty sure it has 3.73's. He says the only real problem has is the VAM (not entirely sure what that is) and it has no air conditioning. All I really want it for is a parts car for now (I'd like to have a v-8 in my car in a few years), but it would be cool to drive it sometimes. My debate is this...

I don't have 1000 straight up, but since I know the guy and see him regularly, I'm wondering if he'll take payments. If so, that's great, but it depends on how low he'll take for payments. I'm thinking if I can swing 100 here and there, I can have it paid in a year, give or take a few months. Should I even bother with a car with that many miles on it? Like I said, I know it runs well, but yeah...Then I have the issue of storing it, registering it, etc(it's 500ish to register in the state of FL). Another issue, I really have no place to keep the car. I called some storage places around my apartment to store it, and they want a minimum of 180 a month. The garages in my apartment complex are 75 a month, but idk if I can swing that yet either...

I graduate in spring of 2012. I think he graduates this spring, so there's no telling if he'll be here after then.

Ideas?
