Rebuilt 302 shortblock

The guy that had rented my shop has a stock rebuilt 302 for sale. It has what appears to cast flat tops that are (incredibly) 0.60 over. It's been sitting in storage for awhile and it kinda shows as seen in the pics below. There is some rust.

It is E6 block. He is asking $300 for it.

With .060 over and those flatops, I'd pass. You can pull an Explorer bottom end yourself for less. Of course, that one pictured has a few less miles though lol.

Depends on what you want to do with it I guess.

Truthfully, it has zero miles on it. He got it for a Bronco he had but ended up selling the it.  He doesn't want to cart it around anymore.

If it's a 78-81 assembly, it will be a 28 oz Imbalance and not be roller cam compatible.  Combine that w/.060 cast pistons, it would appear to be less than desirable, if you are looking for a performance build.

May make a good lopo truck motor, if you want to mess w/a flat tappet cam.
