Pretty nice day the other day, especially for late December.  One cat made it outside for a little ... the other ... well ... not so much ...

T-Bird/Cougar Parts & Cars FOR SALE / Driver seat manual seat track
Selling a driver side manual seat track.  It's not in best cosmetic shape, but it works.  I wire brushed it to clean up some of the rust.  Came out of a junk yard car that I needed the seat base from.  $25 and shipping from the Lancaster, PA area (17601).

Exhaust / Re: Fuel Filter Relocation for Dual Exhaust '86 Bird 5.0 AOD.
Hope this helps ...

Pics are from two different cars.

1st pic is where the fuel filter can be moved to (disregard the subframe connectors - car is a "stock" 86' Cougar vert)

2nd pic is a relocated fuel filter to this location.  The bracket is from a dual exhaust car (a Turbo Coupe if I remember correctly) and utilizes clips/bolts to install.

T-Bird/Cougar Parts & Cars FOR SALE / Center Consoles (1-Navy, 1-Charcoal)
Cleaning out some parts and have two 87-88 style center consoles to get rid of.  Make me an offer and cover shipping from the Lancaster, PA area (17601).

The navy blue one has the traditional broken tabs where it connects to the dash and the small cross "beam" that connects left to right in the front ashtray area.

The gray one was originally raven in color but was painted dark gray/charcoal (a little lighter than raven) with a high quality plastic interior specific paint from LMR (https://lmr.com/item/MET-FV19K/84-86-mustang-interior-paint-kit-dark-gray-svo-gray).  One of the front tabs is broken, but other than that, it is in excellent shape.  The rear ashtray/light switch panel is actually a new NOS piece.

Now to the "fun" stuff ... these rear window assemblies are going to be a series of trial and error with lots of adjustments to get them "right".  Gotta try to line them up with the weatherstripping, gotta make sure they don't go too far up (or down), make sure they meet up and follow the arc of the front window, adjust limit switches ... and when they don't - take them back out, make adjustments, and try again ... good times!

Anyway, got the tracks cleaned up and loosely installed.  This weekend will probably be a time suck on trying to get these suckers all dialed in.  First photo is the assembly as it was removed from the car.  Also worked on installing Dynamat in the rear seat area.  The lift cylinders for the top both leaked all over and the fluid ended up getting partially soaked up by the factory lining which caused it to start deteriorating.

Finally what "feels" like a little bit of tangible progress ...

-Got most of both doors wrapped up ... still need to add the the map pockets on
-Got the seat tracks on the passenger seat cleaned up and loosely installed the seat
-Have the rear wheel wheels all cleaned up and ready to start tackling the re-assembly of the quarter windows

I'm pretty happy with how the color combo has worked out thus far.

User Rides / Re: Picked Up A 1984 Convertible
Hey now...I don't have that Car Craft booklet, I'm jealous! ;)

Eric - I've been meaning to send you a scan of the booklet along with some other stuff, but if 4thqtr will send you the real deal you'll obviously be further ahead.  Looks like his is in better condition than mine to boot.  As he mentioned, there isn't anything Cougar specific ... it's all just general convertible operation and maintenance type stuff.  Still, being a collector, it's a cool piece to have.

Body/Appearance/Interior / Re: SN95 seats DON'T just "bolt to our tracks"?
The TMI part numbers posted further up in the thread are also not 100% correct. For example, the seat foam part number is the back only - there is a different number for the pair. I believe the headrest upholstery was also not a correct part number, while discussing with TMI on the phone.

Here are pictures of my pack slips.  The part numbers I posted further above match with the exception of the additional letters/numbers at the end to signify the material/color ... not sure if their part numbers have changed as I ordered these back in 2017.

The pack slip for the foam does mention "Back Only" in the wording ... then also mentions the pull out knee bolsters, but it was for a kit that did both front seats.  The individual pieces may have shipped in separate boxes though, I can't remember.

It seems https://www.summitracing.com/parts/tip-s34678 is the correct foam + upholstery set (in black/black, they have a couple other colors also), minus the headrest needed to be changed. Trying to get some confirmation.

It looks like the Summit description calls it a kit (upholstery and foam).  The part number 43-73998 is the base part number from when I ordered my front seat upholstery.  I believe the additional letters and numbers after that call out things such as the materials (vinyl, leather, suede, etc), colors, and other options such as embroidery (the ones from the link above will have a Cobra logo embroidered in them).

User Rides / Re: New Addition
For those who ever wondered what a Cougar convertible looks like with the whole top assembly removed ...

Cleaning the insides of the rear wheel wells, treating with some protective coating, and then she'll be going back together ... hopefully ...

"Finished" installing the carpet.  Trimmed everything up, installed the kick panels and sill plates, got all the holes cut/placed for the front and rear seat mounting locations.
