I have an 88 TC that was a driver when parked inside several years ago and an 87 parts car. Both are 5 speed. I am in north west Florida. Is there any interest in a package deal?
If so I can get some pictures and come up with a price.
Does anyone know what the purpose of the plastic/rubber thing in the rear coil springs(inside it from the factory)? I have my mess all apart and am wondering if I can just toss these or if there is some purpose I am not thinking of. Hopefully you know what I am talking about. If not I'll uplad a picture. Thanks.
I am swapping the rear end in what I hope to become my DD soon with one from a parts cat I picked up that looks like it has been gone thru already. (big glob if rtv around the cover, bearings are tight & seals are dry...and it does have oil in it)
I want to replace the bushings and from what I gather the mustang kit should work. Has anyone used this on a 87/88 bird ?
I'm just trying to get back to stock status so I don't want/need any performance parts. Is this reasonable price wise or am I overlooking a better deal, etc.
While I am asking does the 79-93 front/rear kit work on a 88 bird? I'll need to deal with the front end also at some point soon.
Sorry if this was covered elsewhere. I'm swapping rear ends on my 88 TC with another. Does anyone know if the torx that hold the beake lines on (the bracket for the flex hose by the caliper) is metric or SAE? I don't have one that fits so I'll need to buy a set. Just wondering which direction to go.
Anyone know a source for stock 4 lug axles for an 88 tc? It is a 5 speed and I dont care about the anti lock exciter rings - ill be abandoning that. Im just looking for something that will work & keep my factory rims without spending big bucks.
Beware...I ordered what was advertised as a 5 piece SS brake line set for my 88 TC and what I received won't even bolt up. One of the front lines has a male/banjo & the other is a female/banjo. The rear caliper lines don't have the bracket to attach to the axle & there is no body to axle flex hose.
They are telling me they don't have anything to model the body to axle flex hose after & the "5 piece" is a misprint.
I'm trying to return it...I'll let you know how it goes.
After seeing this I thought they had there act together...
Hi Everyone, I'm new to the forum & new to the TC. I picked up an 88 5 speed turbo coupe with a decent body & interior but it has some mechanical issues...
Right now I am in the process of going through the 8.8 rear end replacing wheel bearings. Has anyone used the "axle saver" bearings in one of these?
Just wondering if there are any clearance issues, etc with the ABS exciter ring.
