Body/Appearance/Interior / console lid/interior refurb
easy way to take a ripped up, cracked and otherwise disgusting console lid and give it new life.. any idiot can do it, even if you lack any kind of upholstering skills.. i'm not an upholstery pro, but i do wrap things in tweed quite often

this will probably be a lot easier using vinyl, for a stock appearing refurb, as it is a little more forgiving with a little steam.. if your padding is trashed, you can se the remainder of it off and replace it, as well

basically, all you need is..

- the material you wish to use
- headliner glue/spray adhesive
- chalk or marker
- razor knife/blade
- philips screw driver

bare with me, i forgot to take 'process pics,' but you should be able to figure it out very easily

Body/Appearance/Interior / interesting body mod
i literally stumbled upon this.. when i bought my 4 eyed front clip from BJL, he gave me the front lower halves of the fenders with it.. well, for some reason i decided to do body work today and i started attacking the rust on the driver side 1/4.. i cut the patch from the passenger side fender chunk and trimmed it to fit the hole.. it actually steps the wheel well arch out at the bottom a bit, giving it a little more 'flare.' it really looks badass in my opinion, compared to the original, which begins to 'tuck in' with the rest of the lower 1/4

it's a subtle mod that almost no one will notice, but i think it really makes the flow of the rear 1/4 panel and wheel well arch look a little more aggressive and 'stylistic' (for a lack of better terms lol)

Lounge / prayers appreciated!
on our way home from florida, my stepsister stacie noticed a lump on her neck, right above the collar bone.. she went to the doctor on wed to have it checked out.. they decided to do a biopsy, but she won't get the results until next week.. please send your prayers out to an iraq/afganistan vet who served her country for 5 years before retiring, due to injury.. i'd hate to lose such an amazing person, due to something horrible

Lounge / a little graveyard/horror story.. with pictures
sure.. we all get a little depressed when we see a very saveable fox bird in the junkyard, but i think the following photos take the cake.. there's something for all fans of the US big 3.. yes, i even feel a little sad for a dodge lol

the good side of these pics.. there's a possibility of them being saved, as the junkyard is willing to sell.. i didn't take pics of everything there, just some of what caught my eye.. there was a 57-58 cadillac (i don't know the difference between the 2, not much of a cady fan) that i wanted to get a pic of, but it was boxed in and every pic i took, looked like  or didn't show much..

without any further lolligaging, the pics..

first up, a country squire.. i'd love to save this car for a resto rod project.. updated suspension, lowered on 17x8 torque thrust II's and shaved handles/badging.. mmmmm

some go-fast goodies already included :hick:

i'd love to save this, as well.. lets see if anyone can guess what it is.. david, not you! i already know that you know lol

old dodge pickup with a willys wagon next to it.. i want the wagon.. they're awesome!

a chevelle for the GM guys

my mom wants this 1 lol

shortly before i stole her badging.. LOL

nice fairlane 500, very saveable

and a mustang.. pfft

Suspension/Steering / umm.. ranger rotors?
i saw somewhere on here, that you can use ranger rotors to pull off a 5 lug swap? i imagine it's for the non-tc's, but what year rangers? i have a couple pairs from 94-ish rangers sitting in the trunk of my car.. i'd rather sell them here if someone needs them, instead of tossing them in the s pile

Lounge / illiterate people and hondas..
is it a requirement to be illiterate to own a honda? i'm beginning to believe it is.. i joined a honda forum a while ago, so i could cruise/post in the classifieds and PM people about junk they're selling (mostly turbos and turbo parts) and someone called me a ninja.. wtf is that supposed to mean? lmao.. i'm a bit buttstuff about proper english and literacy, but this just takes the cake on ebonics and dumbfounded wording

anyway, this is the forum, loaded with illiterate.. 'ninjas..' lmao

Suspension/Steering / manual rack
has anyone ever used a manual rack out of a stang, in their bird/cat? looking to weed out the non-necessities from the white car and power steering is 1 of them..

what i want to know is, how well did the car steer with it? and what year was it pulled from/listed for?

Electrical Tech / 4 eyed HID setup
alright.. first, my plan.. since my white bird is now 4 eyed and i have some wiring to do, i need some help before i get started..

my plan is to run my outter lights as my low beams.. for my highs, i'd like to have all 4 illuminated.. i just ordered 2 'single beam' HID kits to power the lights.. i still have to order the housings, possibly next week..

anyway, my problem.. with my car being an 87, the low beam wire loses power when the high beams are switched on.. me and BJL chatted about it for a brief moment and he suggested an earlier headlight switch.. but after some thinking on the subject, i thought to myself that the multi-function switch (turn signal switch) is what controls the high/low beam switch.. am i correct in my theory, that i would have to change the multi-function switch, not the headlight switch in the dash?

do all 4 lights illuminate for the high beams on a 4 eyed bird? this really should have been my first question.. i've never seen a 4 eyed bird with it's high beams on, so i'm unsure

and would the 86- mutli-function mount to my column without issues? and are the plugs the same? if i have to, i will grab a plug from a 4 eyed car and pin it with my wiring to make it work

last question.. WTH did i get myself into? :hick:

T-Bird/Cougar Parts & Cars FOR SALE / IHI and top mount for sale
selling the top mount and IHI off my TC.. both are in great shape, neither needs anything.. i'm upgrading to a Precision SC34 and front mount, so i'll no longer have a use for them.. IHI will be 100% complete and ready to bolt on (no manifold, i still need that). i'll even give you the stock downpipe if you want it. i'll supply pics tomorrow..

$120 obo for the IHI +shipping
$45 obo for the top mount +shipping

$150 obo for both, +shipping
downpipe free to whoever buys the turbo (if they want it)

located in Malaga, NJ 08328.. paypal is still locked up, as my bank account was closed out.. so money order is prefered..

for reference, i sold my aero headlights to Vic (88 Blackbird 5.0) and he received them less than a week after i received payment, via snail mail

Body/Appearance/Interior / fixing broken seat frame
how on earth does the headrest come out? on the seats in my blue car, they just slid right out.. the white car, not so much.. it's fighting me like crazy
15
Body/Appearance/Interior / high/low HID idea..
so i was thinking earier about how i'm going to set my headlights up, since i went 4 eyed with the 'new' car.. i want HIDs, because of the obvious light quality/quantity.. i'm going to ditch the glass bulbs and go with 'diamond cut' sealed beam conversion lamps.. with these.. http://www.racinglab.com/redicutsebeh.html

now, my idea..

get 2 'low beam only' HID kits and set up the outter lights as my low beams.. then set the other ballists up to run the inner lights for my highs.. NOW.. when the inner lights are on for my highs, the outters (low beam) would stay on, to produce (in theory) twice the amount of light..

what do you guys think? it'll take a bit of 'trick wiring,' but i've wired things way worse
