Lounge / Official Miami Vice Fox Spotting Thread
Finding some real treasures in the Miami Vice: Season One box set. Not as many Cats and 'Birds as you'd think but still found some primo examples. As I get screen shots I'll post them. Here's the first, from "Milk Money", about 8:00 in:

Lounge / EP3 Trailer
Anyone else slave through that py O.C. show for the new Star Wars trailer?

that was something. I am impressed and that's not easy to do. I'm trying to remain as spoiler-free as possible before the movie but have already figured a few things out from the new trailer. Still, it's pretty wicked.

Past Cat Jam Threads / Official Cat Jam 2005 Thread
I'm sure a lot of you want to start planning your vacations for this summer, so here's the official low-down:

Cat Jam is July 22, 23 and 24 once again in Youngstown, Ohio, USA. We have a pavilion at our city's most prestigious and beautiful nationally-renowned park, Mill Creek Park. Full information on the pavilion can be found here: http://www.millcreekmetroparks.com/rental-slipperyrock.htm

As you can see, all amenities are covered (playground, bathroom facilities, parking, etc.) so that everyone can be fully accommodated. It is a little tricky to get to the park; however, I will be compiling a full packet for everyone attending so that they'll have ample time to familiarize themselves with the directions.

The most important thing is that the park is not very far from the hotels, nor from the strip (Rt. 224) where all the other car shows are. In other words, we're really not going that far out of the way and in fact, we will be a lot closer to Rt. 224 than in years past.

Also new this year is the concept of having a split caravan. We're going to divide into smaller groups, with each group having a leader and tail car to keep everyone in order. They will be equipped with CB's and will be in communication with everyone else. We're trying to make sure nobody gets lost; as you can imagine that's a very tall order but we are adressing the issue full bore this year.

For those that can help with the car caravans once here in town, we'll have a run-through trip from the hotels to the park tentatively scheduled for Thursday. If you're going to be in town then, not a problem...we'll take care of it on Friday sometime.

Please review all the sections on the site at Cat Jam's new address: http://www.catjam.net . This will be the place where all official communication is presented. It will be up to YOU to review it, but I will try to post on the message boards as a courtesy. There are also volunteer and registration forms posted there, so please fill those out if you're coming and/or can help.

Thanks everyone!

Lounge / CCOA Cougar Survey
Reprinted verbatim from an e-mail received last night:

-----------------------------------------------------
As many of you know, the Cougar Club of America is undergoing some exciting changes.  Our goal for the "new" CCOA is to improve existing services and add new programs to help us do a better job of serving the entire Cougar community.

The CCOA Board of Directors has taken the first steps toward achieving our goal and we're ready to start designing improvements and new services to meet the needs of the Cougar community.  Before we begin, however, we want to have a
clear understanding of what those needs are.  To do that, we have designed a Cougar Community Survey that gives you an opportunity to tell us what you think the CCOA should be doing to serve our hobby.

We call this project a "community" survey because we are inviting everyone to partite, not just CCOA members.  In fact, the survey won't be officially announced to the entire CCOA membership until January, when the next issue of At the Sign of the Cat magazine comes out, so you can get a head start by taking
the survey today.

We've provided a more complete explanation of the survey and how we plan to use the results on the survey web site at http://www.cougarclub.org/survey.  The survey will be available until February 14, but please don't wait until the deadline to partite--we want to begin compiling community input as soon as possible.

In conclusion, I want to assure you that the CCOA's Cougar Community Survey is no watered down "give us a pat on the back" questionnaire.  We are asking the tough questions and we expect you to give us hardball answers. Please pass this along to your club members via your newsletter and e-mail. We hope they take a few minutes to support our hobby by completing a survey form
soon.  We look forward to reading all the responses.
The survey location again is http://www.cougarclub.org/survey/ .
I hope you and your fellow club members decide to partite.

Thanks Scott Ferguson.

Vendor's Section / CHE Performance Uppers/Lowers
Okay, I've been keeping everyone in suspense for a few weeks now. It's time for the big reveal.

There are now full sets of uppers and lowers for the Cougar/Thunderbird chassis available from CHE Performance. The owner, Chuck, contacted me out of the blue in early November 2004 about making them. His dad has a Turbo Coupe, and CHE already makes uppers and lowers for Mustangs, so this cost nothing for engineering. All the specs are in par--or better--than the Maximum Motorsports lowers. But the best news is the price: we're talking around $200 U.S. for the complete SET.

I know your appetite is whetted now...check them out here:

http://www.cheperformance.com/cartgenie/prodInfo.asp?pid=77&cid=9

If you mention the promo code COOLCATS during checkout you will receive another 10% off your order. Right now there's a photo of my car, but he's putting photos of the actual arms here very soon.

Obviously this is one hell of a deal, and I have the honor of receiving the first set made here very soon. Of course I'll report my experience with them at that time, but from the looks of things we've got ourselves an excellent choice for suspension components now.

Please let me know your thoughts....we need feedback.
Thanks all, and Merry Christmas! ;)

Lounge / COOL CATS Site Delay
Hey all, just an update on the new COOL CATS site. As you may know, I'm in the middle of a full redesign of the site, something usually done every 2 years or so just to keep things fresh. This time around there's way more work than usual to be completed. Along with the cool new features, there are tons of new articles and photos that are adding to the workload.

So that means we will not have the usual Dec. 23rd launch date. It should only be about a week later than that, however...sometime around the new year. I'm trying my best to get this wrapped up as soon as possible. Thanks for the patience! You will be rewarded. ;)

Lounge / Need Serious Input N O W
K, I just got a hot lead that I need help with (this is where you come in). But first a back story.

Seven years ago I was about to move my site from AOHell to a real host, and in the process get my own domain name. I checked for 'coolcats.com' and it was available. A few weeks later the site was transferred over and I was all set to get that domain name...except someone beat me to it by just a few days. So I settled for 'coolcats.net'.

I just got an e-mail from the owner of 'coolcats.com'. He's selling the name and would like to give me first shot.

My question to you is, do you think it's something that is needed? On one hand, everyone still finds the site just fine at a .net domain. However, it would be nice to have, easier for newbies to find, plus it's a golden opportunity that probably won't happen again.

Input?
