Misc Tech / Re: Floor shift handle
The next question is, how do you get the rest of the bead shaft out?   I have removed the top piece that you can see with the handle off.

For some reason I can’t figure how to post a picture from my phone.

Misc Tech / Re: Floor shift handle
Update!!!  SUCCESS!!!  I had my doubts, as the T-handle wasn’t budging, so I started bumping it with the palm of my hand……..SPROIIIIIIIIIIING!!!!!  Handle comes off, spring and button go flying, and I can see the offending slinky plastic ball chain!  Recovered spring and button, and commenced to pressing hard on said slinky ball chain…….and got it into gear and back in the garage!  Unfortunately, now the slinky ball chain is stuck in the depressed position, so I can shift with no deterrent.  No problem, will work on that another time.  For now, I’m glad it’s back indoors, poor cat had to stay out last night.

Thanks for the help, fellers!

Misc Tech / Floor shift handle
88 XR7 floor shift has the dreaded “stuck in park” issue going on.  I assume it’s the white plastic beaded thing………question is, how do I disassemble the handle to get at it??

Thanks!

Body/Appearance/Interior / Front fender arch insulation
Had to access the washer fluid tank on my '88 XR7, so out came the inner wheel well liner(if you have a better way to access the tank, I'm all ears, what a PITA).  As everyone knows, one little project uncovers 6 more.....when the liner came out, I discovered it had what appears to be bagged cellulose insulation on top......that the critters have destroyed/depleted in 32 years.

Question is, are people remedying this by refilling and taping the bag up, or just letting it ride as is??

Thanks!

Misc Tech / Re: Throttle to gas pedal cable
Is this the cure for a "binding" pedal?  Seems I have to mash the pedal pretty hard on first starting, before putting in gear, to "break" it loose.  It's fine after that, until it sits a good while again.

LEADS on T-Bird/Cougar Stuff For Sale / Re: 88 TC T-bird on Bring a Trailer "16k miles".....
I dunno, lots fishy about it, to me.  Front left corner lamp, seats, dash, horn button.  In one of the hood photos, looks like it was re-sprayed at some point.  I'm not a 'bird guy, so not sure where this one will end.  It's already past what I would have paid, though.

The blue one that ended yesterday with 37k miles was stellar in comparison.

User Rides / Re: The Distraction
Also thinking about a modern double-din stereo, since I don't have the EQ.........any info people have discovered on that would be appreciated.......

User Rides / Re: The Distraction
For now, sort out the issues with the oil leak and a/c.  Someone also painted the intake with chrome paint that looks like azz now, so I'll remedy that.  May see if a paintless place can pop some of the more egregious dings out.

Other than that, the plan is to enjoy a long time desired car!

Oh, may replace shocks.....tended to "float" quite a bit.

User Rides / The Distraction
My '88 finally arrived from New Hampshire, and the first thing I did was buff n wax to remove(or at least temporarily hide) 32 years of oxidation.  I proudly present, The Distraction, so named, because another friend says it will distract me from working on the '68 it sits beside in the shop! , I'm an equal opportunity slacker, so they'll both be begging for attention!  LOL.
