thanks for the picture. I purchased one on ebay last year and just wondering how easy they are to line up with the body lines and bolt on.

I have one, I haven't put it on yet.  I do have a pic with it just sitting on the car.  I really like them.

I haven't figured out exatly where I am going drill yet.  I figure what I will probably do is make a template and use some of the lines on the hood to try and center it and put it back a few inches from the end of the hood.  Did you get one of the original hood scoops?  I ended up buying an aftermarket one.  Once the car is done I think the hood scoop and spoiler will really make the car look a lot more aggressive.  What year XR7 do you have?

I have one of the original ones, bought it off of ebay awhile back. It's down to the primer, but still has all the studs. I will probably make a template also and decide what color to paint it.  I have a white 1988 XR-7, I thought about painting the scoop flat black like the old Cougar Eliminators but I don't know yet.

I like the idea of painting the scoop black.  Mine will be painted black along with the spoiler and the car when repainted will be a bright blue.  I'm leaning towards the bright blue that they use on the PT Cruiser.

I have that hood scoop on my '91.  Like the looks of them.
easy to bolt on.  I just lined mine up, walked around and made sure it was near centered and marked the holes to drill.  With out measruing I am off 1/8 of an inch to the one side.

I saw an 86 bird with the old Cobra Jet hood scoop that the 68-70 Mustangs use. It looked cool. I plan on getting either the CJ style or the Boss 429 style scoop. I've seen them for around $40 in ads in the Mustang magazines.
