T-Bird/Cougar Parts & Cars FOR SALE / T3 ar60 for sale..off a merkur.. Located in CT
So I have a used T3 that came off a Merkur. It was from a guy who is pretty well known in the Merkur forums (Jeff Labonte) so I trust that this turbo will be great for somebody who wants a upgrade in a 87-88 TC or replacement. Anyways it comes with a 90 degree inlet and needs a wastegate actuator. Play is normal in wheel and not excessive. Im using the money from this to get some body work done.

$300 plus shipping with the elbow

Suspension/Steering / Jacking my 88 TC back up =( from cut springs to sn95s....Advice long thread
So its been a fun year of riding around on cut springs from a SN-95 with no isolators but I have had enough. I cut approx one coil off all 4 springs on the SN95's. The roads in CT are terrible and there are potholes everywhere. I've already managed to damage a MM C/C plate from one. I love the way it sits however if I cant drive it or don't want to drive it then its not worth it. I blew out the tokico's I put on when I did the springs in a matter of no time so every bump I hit at a decent speed the car is bouncing like crazy. But I do believe that the struts were slightly used. And on top of it I found out I installed the struts incorrectly missing the bump stop. Sketchy is one way to describe it.

Currently how it sits

I love the way it looks but hate the way it rides. I've debated on doing just the struts and seeing how much the ride improves...but from everything i've read cut springs will kill the struts prematurely and ride like .

However I never replaced this part when lowering it and like an idiot tossed it out lol

I know I know its very very stupid. So right now its just strut on caster/camber plate. I also didnt set the shims corrector on the plates as well. I did it a very very dumb way. I'm guessing this accelerated the death of my struts.

-Needless to say I have been doing my research and have gotten install instructions from Maximum Motorsports website.

I just picked up a set of 1995 stock V8 Mustang springs just now. I also have some stock SN95 Monro sensatracs for the front and rear. My plan was to swap in the stock height SN95 springs and stock shocks and struts. I am honestly disgusted by the wheel gap on my stock setup and it saddens me thinking about it lol. Seen here

So as i'm typing this i'm realizing more and more wondering if should attempt to install the struts the right way before swapping springs maybe? The stock height SN95's came with the thicker isolators seen here..I was debating on putting these on my cut springs to give a slight increase in height..

I apologize as im all over the place and in case you cant tell I really don't like a large amount of wheel gap. I feel that some of my handling issue's are a issue of extremely beat from struts. Its possible the struts were killed early because of not being install properly. And the fact that I cut off a coil isnt helping either. Should I bother to continue messing with my cut springs (+ upper isolators this time) or just slap in the stock height SN95's and be done with it?

Electrical Tech / Wiring issue between alt and battery...88 TC..help
Im suspecting I may have some wiring issue between my alternator and battery. Im getting around 13-14 volts at the back of the alternator on that terminal. But once I makes it to the battery it drops down to 10 volts. I'm kinda stuck right now so I was wondering where does the other end of that power wire go to? I thought it might go to the starter solenoid but I wasn't sure which terminal it was. I was thinking of running a replacement wire to it to eliminate any possibility of a bad wire.

Thanks all

PS I suck with electrical diagrams..if anyone can dumb it down for me id appreciate it with troubleshooting

Vendor/Seller Feedback / Shoutout to bryan163
Oddly enough we had a mutual friend despite living an hour away. Grabbed a stock style open grill from him for my Turbo Coupe because i'm having radiator air flow issue's. His shop is something a car guy would  to. Super nice guy and parts appeared as promised. Would definitely deal with again.

Thanks again dude nice to meet you

Engine Tech / Anyone running the Volvo FMIC/Ranger Rad on their Turbo Coupe? Air issues maybe?
So I grabbed a explorer radiator which is the same size as the ranger one. I pulled out my condensor and all the A/C stuff. I keep in my stock thermostat and was able to use my stock hoses. I used a 16" ebay universal fan which is wired to my pimp to kick on at 195F. I "Believe" its setup to pull and it feels like its pulling towards to the engine when it kicks on. Its obviously mounted on the radiator.

Now I used to never go over 195-200 on the highway with my stock rad/fan setup. Now since the change over im getting it up to almost 210F on the highway. I am missing the lower air dam but that wasnt on even with the old setup. Im trying to figure out what it could be. Im missing a air dam and lost my little radiator shroud that was molded to the stock setup. Anyone have any ideas??

I dont know how im going to mount a air  with the way it was mauled off from the previous owner..
XX
And there is a noticeable air gap around the sides of the radiator now since its smaller..any ideas guys??

Suspension/Steering / Konis Yellow's vs everything else?? + MM CC Plates
Hey all I need shocks pretty bad on my 88 TC. I currently have a set of Max Motorsports plates that I bent due to a pretty bad pothole+having cut springs+running SN95 tokicos. As of right now I have replacement plates and plan on purchasing fox body struts as they are a tiny bit shorter. I still need to figure out shocks..the guys at MM obviously recommend Koni Yellows if I can afford them. But is there anything else out there that will give me a okay ride without blowing out quickly. I know that on a lowered vehicle you should be running a good/quality strut but asides from Koni Yellows I havent heard any other options.

Suspension/Steering / Options for upgraded brake lines 88 TC?
I was looking around and what is everyone running for upgraded brake lines at the caliper? Im getting a dragging brake up from and my lines are pretty ugly looking. Its for a 88 Turbo Coupe with stock brakes.

Misc Tech / Gas tank not filling maybe..spitting back out at the pump
So as usual ripping my hair with this car :hick:..I often wonder if for my sanity I should I put this thing away for a few months and forget about it.

Im not sure if its a coincidence or what but I installed a gillis valve and replaced the rigged up boost controller on my 88 Turbo Coupe last week. I've been battling a non working gas gauge for a lil while now but havent dropped the tank yet to OHM out the wires. When installing my electric coolant temp gauge yesterday I gave my gas tank a few love taps in the sender area just on the off change my arm got stuck. Oddly enough the gauge actually went up a little bit. I ran to the gas station to try to put in 4 or 5 gallons to see if if the needle would actually move. Well just my luck..the pump was stopping at like 6 bucks..I know there isnt 22 gallons of gas in that thing. Any ideas
