Up for sale is our 1987 mercury cougar xr7. The car has 83,000 original miles on it, was garage kept for the first 20 years of it's life and shows beautifully. Powered by a fuel injected 302 mated to an automatic overdrive transmission and a 2.73 geared trac-loc rearend. The car runs and drives very well. Just made a 7 hour road trip this week and it performed flawlessly. The cougar is silver (no clear coat peeling at all) with a blue leather interior. The leather has no tears at all, just minor drivers seat wear. The car includes a full console, power windows and locks, tilt and cruise, full digital dash with tachometer. Ice cold ac (just converted, the r-12 finally have up the ghost) and hot heat. No prior accident damage, all factory vin stickers present. The car sports the factory 10 hole rims with Cooper tires with over half tread. There are 2 very small rust bubbles at the passenger side rear trim behind the tire and Other than that the body and undercarriage are beautiful. The only flaws with the car are the 2 bubbles mentioned above, a small power steering leak that I hope to have corrected this weekend, a poorly done scratch touch-up above the passengers rear wheel and the car is not inspected. I got the car in a trade with a friend who lives in New York. The car will pass Pa inspection and Emissions no problem. I can get the car inspected for a few extra dollars. This would be a great first car for someone, a reliable daily driver, or an awesome entry level collector/show car. A photo of the Deluxe Marti Report is attached. 1985 Tbird 3.8 auto. The car runs and drives extremely well. Brakes are a little spongy (you would be too after sitting for the past 4 years). Only 88,xxx miles on this beast. Almost perfect door dew wipes, one crack in dash, all seats but drivers seat in very nice shape, working radio and working buttstuffog clock. Steering wheel is sticky at the top. Manual seats on both sides, manual lock car. For anyone who is a restoration guy....check out the v belt photo Trunk has bees. Will get photos after I nuke the nest.
Why am I parting it out??? It was abandoned at a friends shop in 2011 after the customer couldn't pay the bill (brought in for a miss). The shop did a tune up and the car ran great. Customer couldn't pay. The shop owner spoke with the owner of the bird. They didn't want it anymore so it was passed along to me. Owner lost the title and isn't interested in getting a replacement.
Asking $600. Will need a starter solenoid but starts right up by jumping the solenoid. Drive it up on your trailer.
