Those are some great pics. What kind of camera do you have?
I've been looking into getting a Nikon DSLR for some time since the lenses will work from my buttstuffog SLR.

Lounge / New car for my g/f
I would say that judging by your description and these pics, 8-900 is fair. That is assuming the car runs, drives and shifts ok and the strut towers and all are in good shape.

Oh, if you don't meet the seller before you look at the car again, you can tell if it's an 8 or 6 from the vin.
Look at the 8th digit. F=5.0, 3or4=3.8
Of course it could be a swap, but really, who does that...

Anyone have some ideas on what color to paint mine (the white one). I was just gonna repaint it white for now but I was thinking black or a real dark blue kinda like what came on the TC's would look good.

What color is your interior? That's the biggest determining factor for choosing the exterior color. Ever think of a pearl white like some of the GM cars over that past few years?

I would probably say no to black. Not that I have anything against black, it's just that any flaw in the cars surface can and will show up. Not only that but it's getting to be kind of a boring color. It almost seems that any time someone wants to quickly repaint a car, they go for black. The '86 I had was originally Medium Canyon Red and the previous owner repainted it black. It would have looked so sweet if it was done up in the original color but was just normal looking in black.

Lounge / What was your first?
The white cat in my sig. Was 16 and using money I saved up, found it in the paper for $900. She passed inspection with no problems and ran great. It's hard to believe I've had it almost 8 years now.

Lounge / Happy Birthday "Fred"
Thanks everyone! I spent my birthday down in Florida and just came back yesterday. It was nice to spend a b-day in a warm climate instead of freezing in the mid-atlantic for a change. :drink:

Suspension/Steering / Shaking at speed.
If the squeaking noise sounds like a rusty old bed, it's most likely your ball joints which could cause the vibration you are experiencing.

Misc Tech / POR-15 or ????
My cousin used some on his Trans Am and loves it. There's also some comparable stuff sold at Advance Auto that I've heard is good. I don't remember the exact specifics of it though.

If you pull the tranny out with the motor, it'd be a good idea to plug up the tailshaft so you don't drip fluid everywhere.

Like Bob said, use bags to group and label your bolts. I would also consider getting replacements as the originals are surely rusty and stretched by now and tend to snap when re-torquing them.
