WTB: C3/C5/AOD Floor shifter w/cable Reply #10 – June 04, 2010, 01:34:09 AM There is an auto floor shifter at U-Pull-It in Rock Hill, SC. I saw it yesterday while looking for some parts. It's a Sport with a Turbo nose panel. I was tempted to get the turbo nose panel but the back edge of the panel where it meets the hood has a chunk out of it where someone took the hood loose and carelessly dropped it down so the hood latch took a chunk out of it. C3, C5, and AOD trannies all have shifters with 6 detents, which is the same number as the 4R70W. (Although the 4R70W goes P-R-N-OD-2-1, which no Fox tranny does.) A4LD trannies have 7 detents, so I don't want one of those. I think all the hardware between transmissions is the same except for the shifter mechanism. If true, I can use the hardware from any Tbird/Cougar, but need a shifter from anything but a A4LD (Turbocoupe).Does that make sense?PS I've haven't really had internet access for the previous week, so my replies have been slow.
