I've a few injector harnesses, though I don't know if any of them came from a full digi dash car. Do have or know where there's a pic of the temp sender connector? I could compare to mine to see....

I've HEARD that the digital sender connector just plugs into the standard connector along with a resistor....  My gauge took a shiznit many, many moons ago and I replaced it finally within the past year (normally they're RIDICULOUS in price) only to find the connector is gone.  Last time someone messed around in that area other than me was 13 years ago and honestly with the dead gauge I never paid any mind to it, I would just use an infrared tester on occasion to check things.

Anyway, here's what it looks like....

That is likely not part of the engine / fuel injection harness which goes through the right side of the firewall. More likely that it is connected to the fuse panel harness that passes through the left side of the firewall and connects to the dash and gauges.  I probable have that, but I'll have to do some looking to make sure. Any idea what the wire colors are on that one?

Both the standard and digital temp sender connector should be on the harness. On my 88 both connectors are there.

FYI the digital dash temperature sender is the same part as the ECT sensor. The can be interchanged.

Which is what my very faint memory of the circuit was.  Which means some jackass cut that off my harness YEARS ago....

After looking at the wiring diagram, it looks like you are likely correct in that it is part of the engine / fuel injector harness, so I'm no help at present.  I'll have one for sure in about a month or so if you haven't found one. I am picking up another 5.0 Tbird Sport parts car.

on every single 88 5.0,, both digi and buttstuffog connectors are present on the engine harness, im sayin this because of hands on experiences.

on the 87 5.0L ,, it is not the same,, not every 87 5.0L had both provisions..... but some do and some dont.

which lends more credit to the reasons why ford had a special and one year only deal EVTM dedicated to the 88 5.0L.
lots of wiring / color coding differences ,, and to a more important level, the 88 2.3L differences as it pertains to the 3g upgrade and a working shunt wire for the amp gauge.

i know im late but if you still need anything, i do have spares,, but not the engine harness.

on my build, fuse box harness for a CFI 3.8L, i had to hand solder in a 5.0L 87  driver side harness which was a perfect match wire for wire...............WAIT!!!!!!!!!!  i just remembered,,,  i do have an engine harness and i will check today.... but....... its for an 88.
I avoided using this harness because it would not match the rest of the car's 87 evtm application for color coding in a few instances.

and... to your other thread about JBL head units output to the amp on 90's models, i never heard of this before.

pls call you still need...........  i gotta get pics of door panels for ISTLCRUZ  anyway.

I got the radio.

I'm waiting on a box from another friend that's SUPPOSED to have something else I need for a project in which I'll be grafting a factory Ford Slave CD unit into the car and installing it in a way that would appear the car came this way.  I had a second, realted project in mind, but the part for that has become all but impossible to procure.

The weatherstripping I've decided to blow some money and order all new through Steele Rubber....

STILL IN SEARCH OF THE HARNESS THOUGH.

Wire colors don't bother me.  As long as all the connectors are good.  I'll take it.
