here is my mildly chopped version

i didnt want to change a whole lot, because i wanted it to stay similar to the factory vehicle, but i just wanted to "modify" it a bit

200 horse V6

A small compromise to drive a car that doesn't look like a pregnant camel's ass. But hey, it's got a HEMI right?? Right?

My expression when I see what Dodge has done to the Charger:

Don't forget, our cars only had 150hp or less stock , and that was with a 5.0...lol. :grinno:

Yeah, put those torque numbers up against each other, though. Also, our cars stopped in 1988, 17 years ago. Technology has advanced a bit so that emissions restrictions don't choke the life out of engines.

88-5.0 V8 155@3400 275@2000
05-3.0 V6 203@5750 207@4500

Not much difference really. Now I don't really care for fwd, but the 500 is decently powered for 90% of the people who are looking for a family sedan. Besides it looks way better than that horse's ass "Charger". :wtf:

Well,I don't really care for the car as a whole, but it does represent a very good thing.A rear wheel drive hi-po V-8 car. It's a start.I'll bet the Chrysler camp has a lot more up their sleeves.I mean,a ca that a normal person can afford that can carry the family, groceries, and still haul a**.Not a bad thing.Sometimes, change is good.Look at the Mustang II.Nobody liked that car,and for the most part, they still don't.But,if it weren't for that car,we probably wouldn't have gad the '79 til now V-8 'Stangs, and our beloved rear drive Fox body cars.I'll take it.It's a step in the right direction.

You can't fairly compare a 17 year old engine to a modern one. Our cars were made at the beginning of the electronic revolution, when manufacturers were just beginning to use electronics to regain the power that was lost in the early 70's. Back when our cars were made, Corvettes had 250 horsepower, Ferrarris had 300, and family cars had 150 or so. Now Corvettes start at 400, Ferraris are around 425 (and go much higher) and a modern family sedan (well, from anyone other than Ford, anyway) has a six cylinder engine with power output that would shame a pre-90 Corvette and get better gas mileage to boot. Four-cylinder econopoopsters now produce horsepower figures that shame our S.O 5.0 V8 engines.

If we're gonna compare modern cars with our near-antiques, why not compare our near-antiques to the cars of the 50's and earlier? I'm sure our lowly 5.0's would dyno favourably when compared to a flathead in a '51 Merc, or a stovebolt-six, or a model T. You just can't compare different eras.

Luckily our hot rod parts are pretty cheap, and plentiful.

That was an old rendering of what the Charger would have looked like in '06, which is the car we're talking about. That's concept #2, and the 4-dr is the iteration.
