Ambient Temperature Sensor - 1988 Sport 5.0l w/ATC

I need help sourcing a part. I am looking for an Ambient Temperature Sensor for a 1988 Thunderbird Sport V8 with ATC. I have the A/C unit out and replacing the heater core,  evaporator and misc parts. I am also doing the A/C conversion (LMR Kit) from LMR. The sensor is located in the heater core blower box and looks in rough shape. I would like to replace it but I can't find a replacement. Anyone know where I might be able to find one or have one for sale.

All that sensor does is stop the heater from turning on when the coolant is cold. I find it really annoying in winter, because it won't turn on defrost while I am sping the car, then it's frozen inside still.

If you unplug it and replace it with a regular style hose, you would never know.

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

Oops, disregard my post. I misread you post and thought you were talking about the ATC hose sensor.

I thought the hose sensor was the only on in the ATC system.  I don't remember any sensor being in the box in mine, but it's been about 11 or 12 years....

The way I remember that part was as a resistor, but I haven't had an HVAC box open from an ATC car since like 2006.

There is an ambient temperature sensor under the slot in the center stack above the eq and there was one in the hose. That's too I remember.
