You'll have to tap two of the holes, can't remember if it's the front or back, nor do I remember the tap size, thread count, etc.

I ran into this putting some sick ass Motorsport seats in my white bird 12 years ago....

I know the brackets are different between the Mustang and Tbird/Cougar.  You can take the Mustang seats and just use/find power seat brackets for the Tbird/Cougar, that's what I did for several years.  Ran 87/88 Mustang GT seats in my '85 Cougar by just taking the brackets off of my stock seats and installing them on the bottom of the Mustang seats.  The Mustang seats and Turbo Coupe seats are nearly identical with varying minor differences to the knee bolster and seat back height depending on the year.  Not sure, but this might be of some help ... http://www.foxtbirdcougarforums.com/showthread.php?40410-Seat-upgrade-attempt-2&highlight=corbeau
