Replacing Intake, throttle body- questions?

Nah. You should be fine. If anything because of the valve angle on the TW heads you'll have more clearance than with regular inline valve (every other small block Ford) heads.

I can make some gasket recommendations. This gasket set is great for the intake manifold: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/fel-ms95952 Use the rubber end seals in the kit. They seal great. The port openings are the same size as the Fel-Pro 1250 gasket but the MS95952 does not develop water leaks like the 1250. For head gaskets these are really good: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/fel-9333pt1

I just noticed you have an adjustable fuel pressure regulator. Set it to 39psi engine running, vacuum line off. Leave it at that. I just have a stock Motorcraft fuel pressure regulator on my car. Works fine with 30lb injectors and a calibrated MAF. Actually you could get away with the fuel rails/fuel pressure regulator that are on your car already and sell the aftermarket fuel rails and regulator. Just swap the 24lb injectors on to the stock fuel rails.

Thanks for the gasket information. I have a set of the 1250's and was concerned about using them. Not fond of paper gaskets. For head gaskets I was going to use the FRP graphite gaskets, spray them with copper coat. Also going with the cam and lifters you suggested.
I wanted to replace the regulator and fuel rails because I might put a Kenne Bell super charger on it in the future. Also the car will be going on a dyno after I'm done and wanted someway to adjust the fuel pressure if necessary. It's going to cost me around $800 for the dyno run and trying to cover items on a list they gave me. I would not want to do this twice.

The FRPP head gaskets should be pretty similar to the Fel-Pro 9333PT1 gaskets. I wouldn't use the copper coat spray. Totally unnecessary, even with boost.

A good tuning shop that actually tunes the EEC-IV shouldn't need the adjustable fuel pressure regulator at all.

On the 95952 gaskets do they make one without the EGR ports? I'm deleting the EGR.

They do not. I just drilled/tapped the EGR port between the upper and lower intake for a pipe plug. Worked fine.

It's been awhile since I started this thread. Mainly been collecting parts, adding to my list. This is Phase 4 of my 87 Turbo Coupe Remodel. And, according to my wife, the Last Phase of the remodel. I keep telling her that since I quit working I have to have a hobby and this is it. I will have a complete parts list with MFG, part numbers, and cost if anyone is interested.

The motor is in the machine shop getting bored 0.030 and balanced and should have it back Friday. Here's what is going in the motor- 1990 5.0 block, stock crank, 1997 Mountaineer intake manifold, Trick Flow Track Heat heads, Trick Flow forged pistons, Eagle SIR I-Beam rods, ARP head studs, Trick Flow head stud reducing bushings, Ford Racing graphite head gaskets, Comp Cam and lifters, (266/274, 544/555, 112*), Comp Cam roller aluminum 1.6 rockers, CNC Motorsports billet balancer, Ford Racing billet flywheel, Roll Master timing chain and gears, Hamburger 7qt oil pan (I hope will fit), Melling high volume oil pump, Pro M MAF, BBK fuel rail, Kirban fuel pressure regulator, BBK fuel pressure gauge, Ford Racing Denso 24lb injectors, BBK 65mm throttle body, MSD Pro Billet TFI Distributor, Powermaster 100A alternator, new water pump, new power steering pump. I already have a BBK cold air intake and an MSD 6A ignition on the car.

Steering shaft will be replaced with a Borgeson unit.

Transmission will be getting a short throw shifter, MOOG Precision U Joints, and a Centerforce II pressure plate and clutch.

Gas tank is being replaced, new quantum 255l/hr pump, new fuel pump hanger, Tanks Inc fuel sending unit, (gas tank had to be modified to fit).

Brake system is being replaced, new vacuum booster, MC, rotors, calipers, brake lines, manual proportioning valve, and ceramic pads.

The actual list is about 7 pages and includes all the small parts- gaskets, adhesives, wire looms, dowels, nuts and bolts down to spray paint.

I will post pictures here as I take it apart and put it back together. I will be cleaning up the engine bay, deleting smog equipment, and removing unnecessary wiring and the usual patch and paint.

Sounds like it should run well when done. What MAF/tune are you planning to run?

I'm concerned about 24# injectors being enough for that combo.  Without knowing the details of the heads and pistons, you could be banging up against 400hp, but 24# injectors won't get you there.

I've got a ProM 75mm and they set it up. I'm running a A9L computer. I'm pretty sure I'll have to take it to the dyno to be tuned. That's a little beyond my capabilities. Thanks to you guys and a lot of research and money I think I addressed most potential problems with the drive line.

I've been taking it out on Saturday mornings to a weekly car show and coffee. Just a local get together with a couple of hundred cars. 98% of the people don't even know what my car is. It is the only 87 Turbo Coupe, actually the only 80's Thunderbird. Wish there was more here in Las Vegas. I've never seen one in any car show here.

That's one of the big "ifs". I don't want to guess what I'll need. If anyone out there has a suggestion on what size injector will get me closer I would appreciate the help. I'm hoping the dyno run will help me. Compression should be around 10-1 and later, way later, I hope to put a Kenny Bell supercharger on it.

306 making 280ish rwhp and ran out of inject with 24’s. Moved up to 42’s (was planning on the eventual 331) and retuned to 320ish rwhp.

Make the jump to 30 lb injectors and get a customs tune.
