Stripping a 86 5.0 cougar.

I am finally getting around to stripping the car. It's an 86 302 with about 350k miles on it. Body is pretty rough and so is some of the interior. Car drove fine before a broken oil pan, but the front end is all worn out and the shocks and and struts are junk. If you need any electrical or sensors most if not all is there and worked. Both motor mounts are shot with broken brackets.

Let me know if it can be any use to anyone. Located in grantsville utah, 84029.

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

Also, how's the charging system wiring up by the dash on the driver side?  You know, the bundle with all the fusible links?

I believe all the fuseable links are good. Old and dirty, but should be good. It was a lower option gs model, so it might not have every one, but I can pull it all out and take a pic in the next day or two. I did a 3g upgrade but I left the stock charging cable taped up. The connector was melted as were the wires up till they splice from two down to one wire.

It was the standard cable operated heater/a.c. panel. I believe it has the rear window defrost as well.

So is mine.  I need the bezel/surround that runs from the dash cap down to the console.  I've found several out of T-birds but they have a different pattern on them than the Cougars did :(

That's what always happens.  Any time a fox chassis car goes up in flames, the problem is almost always that connector.  I hard wired mine and took the connector out.

Just so you are aware, this GS will have the simulated wood "Woodtone" pattern on it, not the "Black / Gray grid" pattern that your XR-7 has.
