View Full Version : Greasable U-joint question

Being that my U-joints sound like they're shot, I bought some new greasable U-joints for the car. I noticed that they already have grease in them, and I don't know if it's the same type as what's in my grease gun. Considering this, should I take one of the caps off the new u-joints and hook up my grease gun, and force out all the old grease before I install them?

Same here, any high pressure bearing grease will be fine.
I've had my greaseable u-joints for 7 years now and they,ve been great.

Well I was asking more in terms of the fact that I know that mixing different types of grease is a no-no...and I don't know what kind of grease is in the u-joints right now. :dunno:

if you dont want to mix them go ahead and force the old out, wouldnt hurt anything.
